I can't seem to decide what this is. So it's built like an luxury resort and charges fees like a luxury resort but all little things that lacked made it feel like cheap 2.5 star hotel instead of a luxury one. ||||Room - I got a 2 bedroom suite on 9 th floor of east tower right off the elevations. || The suite has kitchenette with small fridge, sink, stove, but no microwave. There was no option for both rooms to be furnished with beds. One has a queen size bed and the other was optional Korean traditional sleep on the floor deal. We got view of the water park and the bay, which was nice, but way the hotels/outside was built, it somehow amplified the sound. With window open I was able to hear people talking down on 1st floor courtyard in a normal voice. But with windows closed it was very quite and well soundproofed from neighbors.||||So here's why this seems like a pretentious luxury resort. We were given only one small towel per person, and no bath towels. With 2 rooms we got 4 towels total. There were some discoloration on the ceiling, in one of the bedroom and living room. There was kitchen with stove top and even water boiler, but no microwave. There was a rip in a couch that were poorly repaired. AC, located in living room did not really circulate well into bedrooms. Just general complain, but there was no shower curtain in the bathroom so water splashed everywhere. ||||So from the price they charge, I was expecting a luxury resort. Current rate lists the suite as 680,000 won (appr 680USD). It is very clean hotel but this place is more like family resort that is way overpriced. ||||Resort - Resort seems to attract regular folks. There were plenty of families. 2 separate University conference type where students were packing boxes of food/alcohol. Parking was self-parking, not sure if they have a valet. There is a convenient store in B2 level and right across the street from the resort. There are couple restaurants inside the resort. And the water park, Ocean Bay. I didn't see any beaches nearby. Breakfast buffet was priced reasonable...
Read moreFantastic location! We stayed in a panorama Vista suite our first week and a gold suite our second week. The Vista suites have beautiful views, and are spacious,. Though some of the furniture could do with a refresh, we really enjoyed our stay in the Vista suite. The kitchen area and dining area are good, and the suite has a nice balcony. Lots of windows.
The gold suite was spectacular, no issues. Extra spacious, with a very large living room, dining room and kitchen. Large master bedroom, good sized second bedroom and an ondol bedroom. Two bathrooms. Wrap around balcony. Lots of windows.
Beautiful waterfront with boardwalks in both directions.
Beautiful property with lots of pluses and things to do inside from game rooms to singing rooms to a water park. Starbucks!
Lots of restaurants on property but overpriced compared to other nearby restaurants. Bakery goods are available, but the property is missing an actual bakery, like some other Sono properties.
Sono Yeosu and Sono Geoje family suites have the same outdated furniture. Uncomfortable couches.
Open garbage bin (4' x 8') was in the hallway next to our door in the Vista suite. Unfortunately I don't think they have another location for it. However, used by every one on the floor and emptied only once a week it seems.
Given these things we still rate our stay high because it's a fantastic property in a fantastic location. Would be 100+ out of 100...
Read moreThis resort is so much fun! We took our 3 year old and 3 month old for Father’s Day and our anniversary and had a blast! The resort was easy to get to, incredibly clean, and felt luxurious! The staff was helpful when we arrived. Parking was easy. We did an all inclusive package which included one night stay, 30 minutes in the screen zone (screen games like baseball, archery, shooting, soccer, etc), buffet breakfast in the morning (which was AMAZING!), and day passes for two to the water park- Ocean Adventure (our son and daughter were free because they were too small to ride the bigger rides). We ate dinner at the Italian restaurant there and the food was very good. They even set the table for our son. So cute. The breakfast was exceptional- so many options and tasted delicious. The water park was my favorite! Indoor, outdoor, wave pool, slide rides, lazy rivers, a sauna.. nice locker room, showers available and food. I would come back just for the water park! We were all exhausted after a few hours there- totally worth it. The rooms were nice. Towels are very small which is normal in Korea. Also AC is only in the main living room, not in bedrooms- also pretty normal in Korea. There were a lot of options for playing and having fun as well as food. I could see this being a beautiful wedding venue as well! Absolutely stay here if...
