We were supposed to stay in the Hound Hotel but they sold out the room we requested, so they moved us to Browndot Airport New Town in Incheon. They drove us from the Hound Hotel to Browndot Airport New Town since we had luggage but it was only a 4 minute walking distance between the two (2-3 minute driving distance). They also upgraded our room to a 3-person room with a separate full massage bed. They should leave the A.C. on for us in our room since the room was stuffy but all of these were unexpected last minute changes, so this is understandable. But the massage chair and the A.C. worked great and our bathroom was really spacious.
The front desk guy at the Hound Hotel also arranged a free taxi for my husband and me. Since my husband had to fly out in the morning, he used the free airport shuttle provided by the Browndot Hotel while I used the taxi in the afternoon (the free shuttle ran only in the mornings). There are many places to eat around here and it's perfectly safe when walking around at night. There's the Lotte Grocery Store so if you are a foreigner, you get immediate tax refund on purchases over 15,000 won (US$10.79). So you get an additional 7.2 - 10% discount if you show your passport to them and scan it. I didn't want to carry too much back so we purchased all sorts of food to eat but no gifts for others. Maybe next time, we will.
The complimentary breakfast room was big but the options were limited-- over 10 different types of ramen, white sticky rice, soup, milk, cereal, juice, bread and strawberry jelly, and lots of coffee, cappuccino. I ate the milk and cereal and the milk was delicious. They also have an indoor gym near the dining room which we didn't know until that morning, so we didn't use it. They have free washing machines and dryers, with free detergent provided to the guests. Since we were staying for just 1 day, we didn't use them. I think they also have steam dryer next to these machines (so that your clothing stays wrinkle-free as it dries). But we have a clothing de-sanitizing machine in our room, which disinfects clothing, shoes, etc.
They give you many medium sized towels and 1 large towel per room, so if you need an extra towel, kindly ask the front desk. They also give you round and flat hair brushes, hair dryer, hair straightener, hair spray, all of which are provided in the room. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, and 3 sets of slippers and 2 robes are provided by the hotel since it's a Korean tradition to take off your shoes when inside the room. We had a bidet (which automatically flushes and it's warm when you use it), but it seems many hotels in South Korea have them. We also had a very large flat screen (television) which we didn't use. But if kids were in the room, they would have loved it.
Since the checkout was at 1pm, I walked around outside in the morning near my hotel and they have a park which was very clean and quiet. The park had stacks of free cold water bottles in the shade in order to help people stay cool. They also had water sprinklers (those you find in Europe) everywhere in the park and on certain pedestrian streets. My husband really liked this area and it's only 11 minutes by taxi to the airport and 20 minutes by a train. The trains are reliable, frequent, and almost always on time. In the future, we plan to visit this area (Incheon) again during our visit to...
Read moreHonestly an ideal place and location to stay (subway is just a tad of a walk) for a layover. Extremely comfortable stay! Sheets were extremely clean, comfortable and sleep inducing. I upgraded my room type to get the massage bed and massage chair. Its a bit confusing because some photos show 1 or both so I wanted to ask if I should get a massage chair too but decided not to. The massage bed turned out to be used quite a bit so theres no way I would have the time to use the massage chair too. I hope they can update their room description to state clearly. Plus they said it was 10m² which obviously it wasn't, even by the photos. The suite is about 22-24m² with a huge TV and an even larger bathroom. The bathtub is huge and can fit a family with 2 kids easily. Perhaps you can bring some bath bombs here. The massage chair's kneading knobs are so good I want to purchase this Ceragem. Except that it keeps starting at the head so my head got a bit sore. There's also a dryer in the room, which also sterilises your clothes! Life saver because I got food poisoning n vomited all over my clothes. (I washed them in the huge bathroom b4 using the washing machine n dryer.) The washing machine is also free to use!!! Detergent is provided FOC. It has many modes including AI mode based on level of contamination, quick mode at 18 min, fitness modes etc. However it is a good 15min walk from Unseo station. The station is very good as its in between the Airport stations and Seoul/Hongik stations. Theres also many restaurants and small shops...
Read moreThe location was not so far from Unseo station. Maybe 10' walking. Front desk didn't speak English but used translation app. It was easy to communicate. Although we reserved rooms to pay at the hotel, hotel had already charged my card for 4 rooms out of 6. this was not acceptable. We requested payment receipts, but they issued receipts with balance. There is no email address to communicate with the hotel. Phone conversation had to go through translation app again and hotel didn't issue zero balance receipt. Trip.com didn't give an option to...
