Kitty and I decided to stay at Dyne Resort as part of our round-island bike adventure, and it was a decent choice, though our experience with the self-check-in wasn't ideal. We had planned to arrive around 1:30 PM, hoping to leave our luggage and head out to the gravity racing park. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, we didn’t arrive until 2:45 PM.
To our surprise, there was no receptionist or check-in counter at the resort. We found a self-service kiosk, but it was only available for check-in after 3:00 PM. We had to wait at the information counter for about 20 minutes until we could use the kiosk to check in. While the self-check-in process was straightforward, the lack of staff available to assist with early luggage drop-off was a significant inconvenience.
Our room was comfortable and clean, and the resort had a surprising number of amenities. We loved the convenience of having a laundry service just beside our room, and the on-site restaurant, which served delicious Korean BBQ and black pork, was perfect for a satisfying dinner after a day of cycling. We explored the resort and checked out the karaoke rooms, but didn't have time to try them out. It was also great to have a minimart just a short walk from the resort, making it easy to grab snacks and necessities.
The resort's swimming pool was unfortunately closed during our stay because of the cool temperatures, but it looked like a nice spot to relax in warmer weather.
We were fortunate to get a room on the first floor, as the resort doesn't have an elevator. If we had been assigned a room on the third floor, carrying our luggage and bikes up the stairs would have been challenging.
The room itself was neat and tidy, and the cozy atmosphere was welcoming after a long day of cycling. The room warmer was a nice touch, keeping us comfortable. However, we were disappointed to find that there were no bath towels provided, only two hand towels. Luckily, Kitty had brought her own disposable towels, which we were able to use. Additionally, there were no toothbrushes or toothpaste provided, and no foot towel for drying our feet after showering. We also found it odd that the mattress protector was placed on top of the bed sheet instead of underneath.
We also encountered some challenges with the room amenities: We found that the wall sockets were loose and difficult to connect our travel plugs, leading to intermittent disconnections while charging our devices.
Overall, Dyne Resort offered everything we needed for a comfortable and convenient stay on our Jeju Island adventure. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the resort's location was ideal for exploring the area. However, there are improvements to be made, especially regarding early luggage drop-off and the missing room amenities and challenges with the...
Read moreA decent resort, but by no means outstanding. The rooms were ok but not well maintained or furnished. Not enough electric outlets (only three accessible). Towels and sheets of poor quality. No crib for babies. No dressers or wardrobes to store items. A serious lack of parking - guard that parking spot tightly.
The pool was poorly maintained and in need of serious renovation (looks like a cheap holdover from the 70s full of bugs a leaves). There is another rooftop hotel on the roof, but you have to pay an excessive amount and reserve a spot there.
Food options there are good. I liked the BBQ restaurant and the free live music is a nice touch (although I'm not a fan of Korean oldies). The western restaurant at the hotel was surprisingly good as well. The chef there really does western food well.
The staff was generally pleasant there. An older maintenance guy who spoke English even kindly helped carry my bags up 2 flights of stairs, even though that wasn't his job. Greatly appreciated his assistance while juggling a baby in my arms.
Environment and location is good. Ocean view with many food options nearby. Not too far from airport, but far enough you're away from the city. I just wish there was a nice sandy beach nearby for swimming like Galki Beach. But Galki beach is only a 30 minute drive...
