Cortijo El Garzopo — Hotel in Órgiva

We had the pleasure of staying at Stefan and Naomi's stunning property in the centre of town. What a gem! A tranquil oasis just walking distance from restaurants, shops and a pretty weekly market etc. The house is beautifully restored in traditional Spanish style with a cozy yet elegant interior. What truly set the property apart, was its serene outdoor space. The house boasts a lovely swimming pool surrounded by lush greenery creating a private escape to relax in. It really felt like a peaceful retreat far away from the hustle and bustle. We loved the fragrant fruit trees and enjoyed fresh orange juice every day with breakfast. There is also a great BBQ area, we didn't get to use this time. Overall we would highly recommend this spotless, stunning property for anyone seeking a relaxing stay in the heart of the city. We have just spent a fabulous 10 days in Orgiva at 'El Garzapo'. The house was just perfect for the four of us. It's been beautifully renovated by Stefan and Naomi, and provided everything we needed. The garden is exquisite, a real treat for a town house. The Alpajurras mountains are stunning and we visited several white villages on our travels, hiking between and above them. There is much more for us to explore on our return trip, hopefully in the near future. We even managed to find time for road biking on the well-maintained, mountain roads. Orgiva is a gem. There are some excellent cafés and restaurants in town. Our best meal was at Baraka, offering superb vegetarian cuisine. This is the 3rd time staying at El Garzopo, what a beautiful house, lovingly restored with such attention to detail. Lots of doors and windows that can be opened letting a lovely breeze through the house, even on the hottest day. The pool is great and really needed for a cool down, In a garden full of shaded corners and fruit trees. Naomi & Stefan have created a real gem, they are both really helpful and friendly. Orgiva is a great little town, enough bars and restaurants to keep you fed and watered for a couple of weeks but with a really relaxing vibe, the surrounding area is lovely from the spa town of Lanjaron to the white mountain villages.
