Olimpo — Hotel in Arnuero

Great location. Our room was clean, also a second room with another balcony which was very large, however despite having two balconies the only views we had were of the car park and a field. The bar and staff were ok. The restaurant and staff had a lot to be desired. We were on a table with eight on and we really bonded and the final night was supposed to be a special candlelit meal. Imagine our horror when our group was split up on the final night to make way for another group, they had quicker service and to make things worse, they had food from our salad table leaving us with some foods missing. for whatever reason this other group had been put in front of us............ lousy end to the holiday. The food was very poor, not much selection..... hardly any veg or potatoes of any kind. Two choices of main, but nothing for our vegetarian friend, despite the hotel knowing. Breakfast, continental or full english. I would recommend the continental at least that was meant to be cold. the bacon and eggs were cold. The coffee machines did not always work, when they did work they gave out the wrong drinks. BEWARE the stairs and steps, the stairs were not lit (there was not a light there) and the steps to/from the restaurant were dangerous, we know of at least five people who took a tumble on these steps, I actually lost my footing coming down the stairs and crashed into a wall. PLEASE USE THE LIFTS. ||I certainly would not return to this hotel nor would I recommend...

On the 24th of May, I had the honour of witnessing my sister’s wedding at the breathtaking Hotel Olimpo, located in the beautiful coastal town of Isla, Cantabria. This venue is truly a hidden gem perched right by the sea, with panoramic views that turn every moment into a postcard.

The ceremony took place outdoors, surrounded by lush greenery and overlooking the ocean. The setting was magical and romantic, serene, and unforgettable. The floral arch, blue and white arrangements, and warm sunlight created a perfect atmosphere for the couple’s special vows.

The team at Hotel Olimpo were outstanding. Every staff member from the waiters to the bartenders was extremely polite, fast, and attentive. Service was smooth and professional, and every guest felt welcomed and well cared for.

The food was delicious: a fresh seafood starter, a tender, flavourful steak with sauces served in tasting glasses, and beautifully presented desserts. The DJ, music, and celebration kept the energy joyful into the evening, under a ceiling of chandeliers and heartfelt cheers.

The location of this hotel is fantastic! Olimpo is right on the water with access to a small beach. Our room was on the top floor with a balcony and a beautiful view of the ocean. From the hotel, we could walk all around Isla to dine at restaurants, do some shopping and swim.

The rooms were clean with standard fixtures and amenities you would find in most hotels. The only negative I can say about our stay was that there was a terrible smell of chemicals in the bathroom. A scented chemical was automatically being sprayed into the back of the toilet tank every few minutes by a battery powered device. The chemical smell was so thick that we could taste it in our mouths. I turned off the automatic chemical sprayer which helped a little, but we slept with the balcony door open to get fresh air so we wouldn't smell the fake cherry chemical smell.

Other than that, we had a great time at Hotel Olimpo and I would certainly return for...
