Cortijo "Casa Ibero" en Bubión — Hotel in Bubión

When staying at Casa Ibero for one Sunday night in September I was bitten by a dog which was tied up just outside the gate of the BnB, owned by a woman having dinner with the proprietors of the accommodation. I went to the proprietor her friend they at first denied this was possible because they said the dog was tied up. I showed them the bite and told them that the tether had broken, and the animal bit me as i tried to get into the front gate coming back from a walk. The woman who runs the place bandaged the wound, but this was handled entirely incorrectly as i now know (anyone else who should find themselves in this unfortunate situation and hotel managers might want to check WHO fact sheet). I did ask that evening whether the dog had been vaccinated but got no reply.||I left in the dark early the next morning (no exterior lighting). I did not know at that time about the facts of rabies.|This is NOT A MINOR MISHAP. Rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms develop - there is NO CURE. ||When I repeatedly tried to contact the accommodation several times over the following days asking for information about the dog, I received no reply of any kind. (My messaged were not accusatory or threatening in any way, i just asked for information.) I then asked the booking website to contact them. I hoped the company would get better cooperation but the owner apparently told them that she didnt know how to reach the owner of the dog and the people at the website did not appreciate the urgency of the situation and dropped the matter, despite my efforts to get further help. How many people invite friends for Sunday dinner and then have no idea how to reach them?||So i was left in fear that I could be infected with rabies. The next several days were filled with anguish as i tried to get information and treatment. I was unsuccessful with this in Europe and decided that the only course for me was to return to Australia - a trip that took over 35 hours, during which time i did not know whether i would develop symptoms of this 100% fatal disease. Once in Australia i was relieved to able to receive the PEP treatment. ||I would recommend to anyone to get vaccinated against rabies prior to travelling. I would also hope that any proprietor of accommodation and any booking website understand how important this is and to do what they can to help. My experience is not one I would wish on any...

Die guten Bewertungen werden dadurch entstehen, dass sich der gleiche Schlag Mensch gerne gegenseitig beweihräuchert. Oft schreibt man doch nur bei: "besonders gut" oder "besonders schlecht". Viele andere schreiben meist eh keine Bewertungen. Das trifft auch auf uns zu. Leider ist ein scheinheiliges "liebe deinen Nächsten" nicht immer der beste Weg. Wir sind niemand, der viele Rezenzionen schreibt. ... und emotional oder rein subjektiv bewerten möchte. In diesem Fall aber wichtig zu wissen. Wir: Viel am Reisen, sehr spartanisch, 2 Personen, Mitte 30, viele Länder, 2 Hunde, offen für alle Begebenheiten. Selten sehr kritisch. Für Unterkunft entschieden, weil sie gut beschrieben ist, Bilder einladend wirken und es meist gute Bewertungen gibt. Leider haben wir aber erkennen müssen, dass nicht alles zutrifft. Wir sind von einem sehr ruhigen Ort ausgegangen. Anzutreffen ist aber eher eine kleine Kommune, das sollte man mögen und wissen. Die Zimmer sind winzig, direkt nebeneinander und hellhörig. Dort mag man sich also nicht wirklich zurückziehen. Wenn man die anderen Räume, wie zB die Gemeinschaftsküche, nutzen will, dann muss man sich auf großes Zusammentreffen einstellen, da theoretisch jederzeit von überall her Leute auftauchen können. Rückzugsorte für Privatsphäre also kaum vorhanden. "Liebe deinen Nächsten" trifft quasi den typischen Berliner. Soweit so gut. Für 2 Tage Hund wurden extra 20€ genommen. Nichts ungewöhnliches, schade, weil ja alle so "weltliebend", aber okay. Wir mussten wegen eines Notfalls einen Tag/Nacht früher abreisen, haben das auch direkt schon vormittgas kommuniziert - mit der Frage und Bitte, ob man die Buchung ändern könne. Wurde mit Hinweis auf die AGB abgelehnt. Schade, aber auch okay. Was aber definitiv nicht okay ist: Wir haben von den 20€/Hund die wir Bar bezahlt haben, ebenfalls nicht die Hälfte zurückbekommen. Das geht leider nicht durch. Das eine sind AGB seitens Booking und die dadurch entstehende Absicherung für den Vermieter, das andere ist das Geld, welches einbehalten wurde - ohne eine Leistung dafür zu erbringen. Es geht nicht um 10€, aber um den Fakt, dass das weder rechtens ist, noch den Gegenwert von dem, was eigentlich dort gelebt werden soll, wiedergibt. Auf 3 Mails "Hin und Her" wurde leider nur: "Wenden sie sich an Booking" geantwortet. Arrogant und man sieht wieder: Geld bestimmt eben doch, wer wann ein netter Mensch sein will. Da hilft auch die größte Hippe-Attitüde nicht weiter. Hat mich ein wenig an eine Diskussion mit einem plakativen Klimakleber erinnert. Meist Sturr und oft ohne Diskussionsvermögen.

Die Lage ist sicher gut - beide Städtchen fußläufig erreichbar. Parkplatz oberhalb einer Treppe, auch voll...
