HOTEL CALP — Hotel in Calp

We were a group of 3 and our experience with this hotel was just awful, in terms of price, service and dishonest management: ||||1 - we booked a triple room for 176€. Sadly we found later that this was simply twice the rate for a double room. They simply charged for an extra bed the price of another double room.||2 - The shower draining was full of hairs from previous guests. ||3 - The room was booked through booking platform. It included breakfast and there wasn't any mention to breakfast schedule. At arrival we asked for it, as we needed to leave the room latest at 7.30. At reception (unfriendly treatment) they said it would not be possible that we need to speak with the owner, and we were given it's telephone. Stayed in a one bedroomed apartment in the Esmerelda Suites opposite the hotel. Kitchen well stocked (can get a kettle from Reception in Hotel). E4 per day to have a lock for the safe. Good view looking out to the sea and rock. Lifts were slow but many cyclists used them with their bikes so heavy usage. Corridors were stark and everything echoes so inside the apartment there is noise. Good location near to sea front, supermarket and hourly bus service to Calpe centre has a bus stop opposite the apartments. The hotel was clean but the shower did not work properly kept going hot and cold at one point it stopped altogether, the toilet seat was not fixed on properly and the door kept sticking on the floor and would not shut properly, another problem was the kettle had to be put on the floor to use as there was no plug near it, a little bit more attention to detail would make this hotel good value for money, also if you have mobility problems make sure you get a room on the first floor as that is as far as the lift goes.
