Traveler Beware: Room 109 has black mold. Spent one night there and ran away for the sake of my health.
This hotel is gorgeous, but lacking way too many ways to justify staying there. First, the town that it is located in, Campos, is not welcoming to tourists. The locals were cold, unfriendly, and felt hostile. If you are a traveler of Color, steer clear at all costs. They don’t see many of us, and are very unkind when they do. Campos also has very little to offer in the way of, well, anything! It is SLEEPY, with virtually no dining, nightlife, shopping, or art options. This town is best for passing through, and nothing more. The hotel claims to be 10 minutes from the beach (Es Trenc), but that’s a total lie. It’s about 18-20 minutes away. Getting a cab here is a challenge, so have a car if you hope to get anywhere. Second, the hotel breakfast sucks. Not a lot of options, the food is not fresh, and the staff do not replenish it quickly. Third, the hotel design sucks. Sure, it’s pretty on the outside, but inside, the doors to the toilet are clear, so you can watch someone using the restroom. The doors aren’t sealed, so you can smell it as well. None (or very few) of the patios have umbrellas or any substantial way to block you from the sun if you want to lounge outside during the day. And during the Summer, IT GETS HOT! What’s the point of having a terrace, if you can’t enjoy it when you choose to? Fourth, dining options leave something to be desired. Yes, there is a Michelin star restaurant on the premises, but you’d better make a reservation or you are driving 15 minutes to get food. Don’t miss breakfast because you will suffer a similar fate. Finally, did I mention the BLACK MOLD? If not, allow me to again. There is black mold here. It was in the room that I stayed in. I’m sure if it’s in one, it’s in a few more as well. I struggled to breath all night, and woke up coughing and congested. It was a terrible night sleep that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Do yourself a favor and...
Read moreWe stayed at Sa Creu Nova for two nights in August. From the moment we arrived we knew we we going to love it. The hotel is beautiful, every detail calm and sophisticated.|| Arnau on reception was so welcoming and took lots of time to give us advice on the area and places to eat. Our room was huge, clean and stunning. The only downside being the “glass” toilet room as part of the room, this is never my preference as it’s not private but that is personal preference. ||Breakfast at the hotel was plentiful with good choice and fresh. taken outside on the lovely shady terrace overlooking the garden. Cold options to help yourself with delicious fresh juices ans also lots of choice of cooked options cooked fresh. ||The spa is luxurious and we enjoyed having it to ourselves at the prebooked time. ||It was Festa weekend in Campos which we hadn’t been aware of when we booked but made our stay even more enjoyable. It meant that the two restaurants had combined for an evening and presented a dual tasting menu which was a real treat, beautifully prepared and served and delicious. The desert was honestly the best I’ve ever had. One thing Tesd De Mar do with is a little more atmosphere which may be helped by having some music.||The pool area is small and relaxing. No cocktails were available on Sunday as the barman isn’t there which was a shame, but they did knock up a delicious freshly squeezed tomato juice to go with a vodka so I could fashion a Bloody Mary.||You can have a complimentary picnic made for a day out which we did and really appreciated. Fresh , tasty and plentiful with sandwiches, fresh fruit , juices and pastries. ||One of the staff Alice also deserves a mention as she was like a ray of sunshine - always smiling and friendly, no request too much. ||Overall a wonderful stay in a lovely small Spanish town. Great value for money we felt well looked after and revitalised after our...
Read moreSa Creu Nova might be the top hotel in Mallorca. When you walk in you immediately feel at peace. The stone walls magically relax you, the staff welcome you with open arms and want to invite you into their world.
The rooms are pristine. The linens and mattress are silky, you won’t want to get out of bed. Except that breakfast awaits.
Breakfast has everything you need, especially eggs made to order. I don’t usually eat a big breakfast but the scrambled eggs… melt in your mouth. I don’t know if the chef massaged the eggs before cooking them, but they were worth the trip to Campos!
The pool is in a cute corner with a small waterfall and lounge chairs, also a gym which was helpful before my big breakfast of champions, and spa which we regretfully didn’t have time to use.
My husband planned my birthday dinner at Kairiku. We enjoyed a stunning omakase dinner and sat with a charming couple who also loved every morsel served. The food and service were definitely worth the Michelin recommendation. Chef Bruno and Lena created a perfect evening.
After dinner, there is a bar you can sit at, and be served by the award winning bartender of Mallorca. Maybe Spain. Let him make a creation for you!
The last and most important comment I must say is about the service. The entire staff is incredible. Most luxury hotels you know they are just doing their jobs. At Sa Creu Nova they are are your oldest friends. David! What can I say, you are the warmest person we have met on our trip. And the warmest host in the world! You told us this is why you love your job and we can tell. Thank you, Merci Beaucoup, Gracias desde el fondo de nuestros corazones! 💜 We...
