Hotel Rocatel — Hotel in Canet de Mar

We have been coming for over 20 years. It never fails to be an absolutely lovely and an authentic Spanish holiday. We first started coming here when the hotel was un-renovated. It was a family run hotel even back then and still is now. It was renovated and the hotel is just impeccable. Extremely tidy and clean and it always has a personal feel. As we have come for so long year after year I think that shows just how lovely this hotel is. The view is simply outstanding. You are pretty much on the beach and get a lovely sea view on one of the sides. We have never had items get lost and if we leave them Xavi always makes sure they get back to us. Xavi is always so friendly and welcoming and very informative with the best places to go as the food doesn't get better than Canet. The beach has a line of beach bars and they are all 5-10 mins away from the hotel depending on how far you go. The seafood is amazing but if you do not like seafood you will NOT be finding English food so do not expect that. It is a purely Spanish hotel and experience. You will not find big consumerist hotels which focus on tourism. People come from Barcelona so it is a lot of Spanish. Breakfast is a great experience with a wide variety of food for everyone. Breakfast is an inside and outside space and the outside space is a terrace with a direct view to the sea. The pool is amazing; deckchairs always available and also umbrellas for shade. Gorgeous palm trees surround the pool and it has a shallow end for the smaller kids. Never overly busy and pool is always clean. An amazing ice cream shop right near the hotel which we love to get one from. We always want to return year after year as it always feels special. Thank you Xavi for an amazing stay...

wow - agree with all the positive comments - Xavi and his wife I must say are fabulous hosts - the room was so comfy and relaxing very well thought out, lovely for 1 person even had a double bed - I did ask for a blanket to cover the mattress as it was little hard for me and then it was a great night's sleep the 5 days I was there. Pool area is lovely despite the train but I was well aware of this coastal path and the train as I had resently been up the coast - NO MUSIC BLARING - result!!! Lovely place for a relaxing break. ||Only negatives and it does pain me to say is some steps out of the pool were very slippey - another eldey lady struggled to get out when I was there - and the location besides the intersection there is a bit of noise but I have a hearing problem where I hear too much so Id say most peeps would not even notice . This hotel is amazing and incredible value. The views of the beach and sea are stunning, the rooms are spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and are very comfortable, You may notice the location between a busy road and a railway but this is not an issue at all. Once you close the windows you sleep soundly. The last train is around 11pm anyway. Every part of this hotel from the rooms, public areas and pool area look like they were painted yesterday and are so clean and fresh looking. What really makes it stand out for me though is that it is family owned and operated by a friendly owner. Housekeeping is spot on and the rooms are pristine every afternoon when you return from lunch. Spending my money here goes to the local economy rather than a large...
