We stayed at Hotel Larry during our journey through Galician coast. Among all the places we have been, Hotel Larry was by far the lowest value for money. We paid same price than a 4star hotel in Santiago but that was all. Room was not clean: the carpet in our room was very dirty and we had to ask reception to send someone to clean it. The room was a 3 bed room with only one socket for the entire room. No table lamps, just lighting from wall chandeliers rescued from a trip back in time. In fact the entire décor was clearly dated and with a tacky appearance. The hot water tap in the sink did not work, so I had to shave with cold water. Staff was polite in manners, but that was all. The lobby smelled of grilled sardines and our included breakfast consisted in ONE small bread slice, a café con leche (not even a good one) and orange juice (squeezed). More bits: no air-con, the music channel device was merely decorative, bed linen was synthetic…... We found the whole place completely overpriced. The décor and services probably belonged to a glorious past for this hotel, but although hotel runners have clearly spec up the prices, nothing has been invested to improve the rooms and experience....

The floor in the room could also have been swept better; it felt dirty even before we began to add our grit.|| But we still fell in love with the place given the affability of the owners and, even more, the meal. It was by far the best we ate on the Camino with fabulous grilled vegetables served family style. The fish was also delicious as was the pork. || Breakfast was regular coffee (not cafe con leche) and basic cheese and...
Read moreGreat family owned hotel. All working as a team! Very nice people and very friendly. Close to shops and the coast. Rooms adequate for a short stay. Delicious food in restaurant downstairs. Staff fluent in Spanish and have very good English. Decor is quite old fashioned (but doesn't really matter) * for great staff and for a short one or two night stay. . Very family friendly hotel and if you have young children I'd say that a week's stay would be perfect in this hotel. But for a couples trip I would not recommend this hotel. Great service for groups walking the Camino and give a great feed. Breakfast hours are suitable for those walking the Camino...
