The best thing about the hotel is its location, but that is not enough to make up for its shortcomings.
Breakfast is €8.50 and consists of a small orange juice, small coffee, and a pastry, served at Kontent across the plaza, where the staff are reluctant to give out the breakfast you have paid for. You can do better at Picoteo's Café on Isasi Kalea for half the price.
Trying to book a reservation from the USA was difficult. First their system did not accept credit cards from the USA. After exchanging several emails, they said to send a bank transfer, but my bank does not allow sending SWIFT transfers, and I would have had to pay extra fees to book. Finally my conference organizer stepped up to book and pay for the room on my behalf, and I reimbursed them.
Once I arrived, the room was clean. The air conditioning worked, but I could not adjust it to a comfortable setting, having to turn it off when it got too cold.
Because it is a self-check-in hotel, there is no staff on site. If you need help with transportation or anything else, you can try email, but they only reply during a few hours of the day, if it all.

WiFi in the bedroom was very weak, but fortunately working in the lounge area is very tranquil and comfortable, albeit a little bit inconvenient.
Other than that, all the positives were there: very clean room, serviced, friendly cleaning staff (when you see them), and even the single room was very spacious. The fact that I had air conditioning while colleagues staying in other hotels didn't, also shows that this is...
Read moreThe location is excellent! Lots of restaurants and bars and coffee shops in the area. The train station is like 2 blocks away and the bus station is a few steps from the hotel, where there are Buses to Bilbao as well as a direct Bus to the Bilbao Airport. The room and the bathroom were very big for Europe’s standards. Very nice, big, and very clean. Not having a front desk was different but the communication via email and WhatsApp was excellent and prompt. The check in was very easy and the codes for the entrance and the room were provided promptly once check in was completed. The rooms are in the 1st floor and there is an elevator, slow, but it woks! I would highly...
