Camping Ainsa is a brilliant find. There are lots of shady pitches to hide from the summer sun, but being English asked for a sunny pitch. No problem. Given a pitch with views over fields to the ancient hill town of Ainsa with its medieval building and beautiful church. After setting up camp I realised there was no electricity at the plug in point, so I decided to mention it when I next went to reception and settled down for an afternoon in the sun. One hour later a man on a buggy turns up with a light bulb on a lead, plugs it in and says electrify now OK. Not sure how yhey new, I guess the main fuse had tripped, but suffice to say most impressed. The staff are brilliant tolerating and helping me to improve my pigeon Spanish. Well sticked minimalist, not massive but seems to have everything I needed including dairy, tinned goods, cold meat and fresh (I mean fresh) veg and salad. Lovely bar terrace overlooking an amazing swimming pool. I' m going to restaurant tonight. I'll let you know...
Read moreThere is a lady who shows you to the pitch but considering it was empty you think you would be offered a nice pitch or at least asked what type of pitch you'd like. We were given one super far from the toilets/showers/water and in shade despite it being relatively cool and cloudy. It was a 150m walk and 40 stairs ups a hill to get to the toilets. There are so many pitches where we were an no toilets - this is really strange and needs to be improved. When i asked the lady at the reception about why we got auch a spot she was super rude and unfriendly. At check in i had the same impression but thought she was maybe having a bad day but apparently she just is rude and unfriendly. The camping itself is nice and clean and close to Ainsa which is beautiful and the biking is amazing. So we would come again and just hope someone else is working reception and be more forceful about getting a...
Read moreI mean, you would have to take my word for it, but this campground is probably one the most relaxed I have ever been to. Yes, you may hit a rock when driving in your tent pegs, but just move the bugger a few inches. It has a lot of parts in the shade, but also in the sun if that is your thing. Staff is very friendly, though any other language than Spanish is not their strong suit. English is ok for most of the staff. Ainsa is within walking distance, three National Parks within an hour's drive, lots of outdoor activities can be done in the area. And when you come back, the place is usually quiet, as in noise, with lots of friendly people visiting...
