Juan Francisco — Hotel in Güéjar Sierra

We intended to stay only for three nights but due to work commitments we had to return early. If work hadn't have called we would have stayed for a week or even more. Its very difficult to describe the lovely ambiance of this little hotel, the owner,the staff, his family and some of the locals felt like old friends after the first hour, they couldn't do enough for us.The room was large and comfortable, The food was amazing and the menu del dia was only 10 euro for about 7 beautifully cooked and prepared courses, although it shows 20 euro per person on the website it is only 10. In addition veggies and vegans are well catered for. Only a small point but important to me was that they had FRESH milk, which is amazing to find in a hotel / restaurant or bar these days, I loathe UHT milk so I was thrilled. With each drink ( inexpensive ) a tapas was served, including one of the nicest garlicky,parsley,fried squid served on lettuce I have ever tasted, I am going to ask Juan for the recipe it was that yummy.I wont go on and on although I could, you will never regret booking into the Juan Francisco and when you do please say hi to them from Steve and Davina we shall...

This hotel has lots to recommend it :||||- big, comfortable bedrooms with well equipped bathrooms and good showers||- a cozy bar and large terrace with mountain views||- a very good continental breakfast ||- a small swimming pool (open seasonally)||- a large car park. The village has very narrow streets and little parking generally so the car park is essential.||- the staff are amazingly polite and helpful - the only awkward thing was our lack of Spanish so communication was tricky||-located in a village served by a good bus service to Granada||||The only negative in our opinion was the village in which the hotel is located. One of the things we enjoy on holiday is eating out in different restaurants and trying local bars. In September, the village appears to be 'out of season' so most of the bars and restaurants were closed. This is no reflection on the hotel but would affect our decision to stay...

Absolute gem 💎 on a map! Proximity to beautiful mountains 🗻 of Sierra Nevada and Granada. Located in a small valley with beautiful waterfall across the valley, that can be seen from your window (if your room is located at the front of the hotel). Beautiful outdoors garden area with separate bar. Very helpful and nice staff. Hearty breakfast with plenty of coffee and orange juice! Clean, comfortable rooms, dedicated bar with amazing wood stove and general atmosphere of tranquility. Located just minutes away from main street. There is a courtyard/car park conveniently located behind hotel to cater for easy access.
