Restaurante Las Olivillas — Restaurant in Güéjar Sierra

We've stopped here for tapas on bikes many times, This was our first time in the dining room. Wonderful mid week lunch experience in Guejar with friends over from London. Traditional dining room with views. There is also terrace which was closed as too hot and tables at the front. Dishes were generous and fresh quality ingredients. We didn't reserve as mid week in August, however, I imagine it's very busy at weekends and out of summer time. We will return....

Ended up here as place we wanted to go was closed for holidays. Restaurant very dated, and trying to be something it is not I had clams and my husband had goat. Clams very small but fairly tasty, crockery was chipped The goat was more bone and fat than meat and the potatoes really greasy, definitely not worth the money. Beautiful location that overlooks the mountains. We came for lunch and was seated at the terrace upstairs. However we left before eating because of the atmosphere. There was a large bird kept in a very very small cage with absolutely no room for it to move at display in the middle of the restaurant. What an unnecessary and cruel way to treat a bird.
