A pleasant ambience in the Castillian style, full of stone, tiles, wood and wrought iron with a strong hunting theme including, nowadays, on the restaurant menu. We've often stopped here for a drink, occasionally a meal and this time an overnight stay with the dog.||The accomodation is accessed from the rear of the main lobby and arranged round a square of grass, trees and sculptures. A delightful room with access on the far side to an optional personal garage for your car (in addition to the open air parking round the side of the hotel). The fire escape plan in the room shows route 1 back through the main hotel and route 2 through a gate in the far corner of the plaza which on our visit was chained up and padlocked (see photo). I had a good look round and all other possible exits were also chained up, apart from one kept shut by what seemed to be a pair of strong magnets. Maybe in the event of a fire they would open? However this gate is not marked on the map and would be unlikely to be discovered in an emergency. In the event of a big fire in the main building you would have to stay in your room until the fire brigade turned up. Unless you had paid the extra ten euros per night to use the room's garage.||The restaurant menu includes partridge, venison and an underwhelming rabbit and rice dish. I had the partridge which is difficult to find in Spain except when it's in escabeche. Like another reviewer, mine was missing half a leg. Not a problem for me, and I am not expert enough to tell whether the bird was farmed or shot in the wild. I enjoyed it but the potatoes and vegetables were lukewarm. I can see what other reviewers mean about chaotic and slow service but that was not generally my experience on this visit.||Definitely worth a visit unless you are in a rush or don't...
Read moreThis hotel is very easy to find as it is right on the exit from the autovia, (you do not hear the road noise though!). Check in was very easy and we were given a room and garage (this was a welcome surprise) the private garage has a remote controlled roll up door and you just drive straight in and have access to your room. Your car and belongings are safe and out of sight and out of the sun!||The room was large and the door at the other end of the room led to a private terrace with a table and two chairs and access to a lovely grassy area surrounded by similar rooms, very quiet and peaceful.||The room was quite dark and the lighting not very good. The shower was in the bath but worked well. The fridge door kept opening on its own, so didn't stay too cold!||You can take your dog, but there is no place outside here at all to eat that will allow your dog with you. They have wooden kennels with chains for you to tie your dog outside in the garden. There is absolutely nowhere outside you can sit and eat with your pet with you. We were offered a very dark, hot, smelly kind of cabin with just lounge furniture in to sit a eat (opposite reception) not good. Certainly not a place to eat a meal. ||After a day of driving we did not want to go out again to eat, but we had to. And also we could not have the breakfast for the same reason. Maybe for some people this is not a problem, but if you choose to travel with your pet you think a dog friendly hotel would have better facilities. ||This hotel was chosen by us for location, food quality reviews and for being pet friendly.||Location........good.||Pet friendly...............I would say just pets allowed in room (tolerated)||Food quality............. sadly we didn't get the...
Read moreWe had travelled up to the airport in Madrid to collect our dog, who had arrived on a flight from Hanoi at 12 noon. When we realised how long the Customs clearance process was going to be (7 hours in the end!), we decided to book into this lovely hotel to break up the journey back home.||||We didn't arrive at the hotel until 10pm and had to leave the following morning at 6, but this place was so cosy and welcoming, that we were very glad we had stopped there.||||Dogs aren't permitted in the dining room, but the very nice waiter spread a white, linen cloth over a table in the lounge room just off Reception, and we had two steaming hot bowls of a delicious, hearty soup along with the pheasant pate we'd heard so much about - it IS delicious!||||Our room was spotlessly clean and the beds firm and comfortable. Although there are stone floors throughout, and the temperature outside well in the low single digits, the room was warm and we had a great night's sleep. Sadly, we had to leave before breakfast, so I can't comment on that.||||We only wish that we could have had more time to enjoy this lovely hotel, but will definitely make a point of...
