This small hotel punches well above its 2* rating. The location is perfect, close to all amenities. It is a splendid villa, set in its own lush grounds, with a restaurant and bar on site. The restaurant could take up a review by itself. Great menu choices, also reflecting the new Mexican influence brought to the hotel by its its owners. A really good wine list too. The outside seating area is charming and beautifully lit at night. The hotel has retained all the charm and character of its former days. A beautiful styled entrance hall with a mezzanine staircase showing the Spanish/Moorish architecture. Our room was a good size and comfortable. I really appreciated the firmness of the mattress. Balcony doors led out to overlook (what used to be a 'zen garden' and doubtless the new owners will restore it in time. The ensuite was as pristine and commodious as the room. Daily cleaning was thorough. The reception is not manned at times, but the delightful Monica is but a 'What's App' away from resolving any issues or questions you may have. Very friendly and professional staff, especially Monica and Jorge in the restaurant. Although in previous reviews, breakfast had been offered (and Booking.com mentioned breakfast included), it appears that in these early days for the new owners, you may be offered some pastries and fruit and coffee in the small reception/ lounge (but I think it is by prior arrangement). Hopefully this may change. The restaurant also does not open until the evening, so during the day, the hotel may seem deserted but it is an oasis of calm and tranquility. La primera impresión es muy buena. Al entrar te encuentras con unos jardines amplios y bien cuidados. Además, el recibidor es muy bonito y está bien decorado. Pero conforme te vas adentrando en las instalaciones, encuentras bastantes fallos. Para empezar, las llaves de todas las habitaciones están juntas. Una vez llegas a la habitación, te encuentras algo acorde con las espectativas. Mobiliario un tanto anticuado, poca tecnología y un baño sencillo, pero de apariencia higiénico.

La TV de la habitación es muy pequeña y antigua, pero funciona. Las camas son muy incomodas ya que se les ha dado demasiado uso.

En cuanto al restaurante del hotel, el servicio es un poco lento, pero la comida y los precios estan bien.

Por otro lado, al no haber recepción, si necesitas cualquier cosa tienes que hablar por WhatsApp con el propietario. Es una persona amable y contesta en un plazo razonable.

Respecto a higiene, las instalaciones se encuentran bien cuidadas, pero hace falta llevar a cabo una limpieza en profundidad. Los radiadores tienen mucho polvo y uno de los muebles estaba sucio por la parte inferior. Dejamos puesto el cartel de no molestar todo el día; pero aún así, pasaron a hacer las camas (no sé si esto es bueno o malo).

Me hubiese gustado encontrar una cama cómoda y haber visto a algún empleado en algún momento de la estancia. Pese a que no sea esencial tener recepción 24h, deberían acudir con más...

Eerlijk gezegd een tegenvaller. We hadden verzocht om twee eenpersoonsbedden, vader en dochter samen op reis. Kregen een klein tweepersoonsbed. De kamer op zich was verder netjes maar heel basic. De raam kan open maar wel met tralies. Behalve bij het restaurant kun je nergens buiten zitten en de kamer is echt alleen geschikt om te slapen. Er staat niet eens een fatsoenlijke stoel. Het huis op zich is netjes en verzorgd, daar kan ik niks over zeggen maar het gemis van een zitje voor in de avond is jammer. Het hotel ligt in een buitenwijk waar niets, maar dan ook niets te doen is. Het aangrenzende restaurant, van blijkbaar een andere eigenaar, gaat pas na 19u open en ze verwachten daar min of meer wél dat je er iets eet. De bediening maakt dat subtiel duidelijk. Wij hebben er alleen wat tapas gehad en gedronken, was prima. Achteraf, voor hetzelfde geld, hadden we ook in Granada zelf kunnen verblijven. Het bijgeboekte ontbijt nuttig je in een dorpscafé iets verderop. De eigenaar van het hotel was vergeten door te geven dat we daar gebruik van gingen maken dus geen ontbijt op de eerste dag. Gelukkig zit er een supermarkt naast het café dus dat hebben we zelf opgelost. De eigenaren van het hotel hebben het bedrag aan ons terugbetaald, wel zo netjes. De 2e dag was het wel goed geregeld al stelde het ontbijt niets voor. We hadden dus niets gemist. Niet van...
