We stayed at the Globales Maioris in Mallorca for the last week of September with our three children, (13, 13 and 8) hoping for a relaxing family holiday. While there were some positive aspects, the holiday was severely marred by significant issues, particularly with the food, which made this an overall poor stay.|||The hotel itself is clean, with well-maintained facilities that give a good first impression. The rooms are a decent size, we had 2 rooms for the 5 of us. The pools are a highlight—our kids loved the children’s pool with slides, which kept them entertained. The entertainment program wasnt the worst weve known, though nothing extraordinary. In the day time it didnt seem like anything was going on but of an evening there was atleast a programme including a kids disco (the girls who do the little kids disco were great). We didnt stay late most nights as our teenage boys were bored. ||The staff were not particularly friendly to British guests or helpful, they weren't rude but you did actively see them make more effort with other nationalities it seemed. This might not have been everyone's experience but its what we felt we observed. |||The food, was an absolute disaster—the worst we’ve ever encountered on a holiday. The quality is shockingly poor, clearly a cost-cutting exercise using the cheapest possible ingredients. The meal options are disjointed, with no coherence in the menu—random, poorly prepared dishes that don’t complement each other, never seemed fresh and to be brutally honest just tasted horrible. The meat was consistently cheap and unappetizing, often tough or greasy. We honestly came to dread meal times and it became a running joke that we were going to "the gulag for gulash" at meal times. || Both my partner and I fell ill twice within a week, likely from the food (obviously cannot say for sure and dont want to be unreasonable), and our kids barely ate anything served, practically starving, even the chips were terrible so the only things they ate were bread, rice and melon (which was often plagued my flies, along with some of the other foods) not necessarily the hotels fault as it was a very clean hotel but seeing flies on already unappetising food isnt a great spectacle.| We were forced to regularly eat out or buy snacks from the supermarket just to get by, which completely defeats the purpose of an all-inclusive package. Also worth mentioning the deserts were awful too. Our kids couldn't wait to get home to a decent meal and none of them are particularly picky eaters. What made this even worse is we could see they had things like crepe makers etc that just weren't being used which might have atleast made the kids a little happier ||The afternoon snacks at the bar were utterly appalling—cheap, barely edible burgers or boiled sausages you wouldn’t feed a dog and buns that were never fresh (they were put out still frozen and left to defrost we think as they were soggy earlier on in the day) It’s hard to overstate how dreadful the food situation was; it single-handedly ruined the holiday.|| We didn’t drink alcohol, so I can’t comment on the drinks, but other guests mentioned that anything decent or drinkable wasn’t included in the all-inclusive package (again, we dont drink so cant say) the soft drinks were self serve which is ideal as the bars always looked busy but the juices were really poor, not proper juices, they seemed to be those powdered juices that taste like sugar water. Also they often only had 1 person on the bars which meant the queues even were really long. In the bar area when the entertainment was on we resorted to buying cans of coke from the vending machine to save us queuing (we wonder if it was intentional so they could keep down the amount of all inclusive alcohol they were giving out)||Beyond the food, the hotel money grabs at every turn. A kettle for the room cost an outrageous €30 for the week, non-refundable, and pool towels required a €10 deposit per towel. These additional charges felt like a blatant cash grab. The location is another downside—miles from anywhere, with little to do nearby. El Arenal, a 25-minute bus ride away, felt like a German tourist hub, and Palma, the main draw, is a 50-minute bus journey, making day trips a hassle. They do put a couple of free buses on per week to take you though. There is a pretty bay 15 minutes walk away but its not child friendly at all with sheer drops along the path from the entrance to the bay down to the sea and it takes another 10 minutes of climbing down to actually get to the sea (also its a nudist bay so again not child friendly but each to their own)|Finally, the air con in our room was LOUD. And whilst in September It wasn't warm of an evening, it would not keep you cool in the height of summer. ||Overall:||This hotel has the potential to be great, with clean facilities, decent rooms, great pools, and genuinely friendly staff. However, the abysmal food quality drags it down to a level that doesn’t even justify a 3-star rating, let alone the 4 stars it claims. The hotel company seems intent on cutting corners wherever possible, from the inedible food to the constant extra charges, which left us feeling swindled. The staff do their best, but they’re let down by management’s penny-pinching approach. We wouldn’t return unless serious changes are made, especially to the food. Save your money and look elsewhere for a truly enjoyable all-inclusive...

(Food) We've noticed alot of people stating the food was rather samey, I would suggest that there is plenty of different options throughout to make the potential to have something different to eat at each meal there, there was always chips, pizza and pasta, but a major different buffet scattered around and the chefs themselves were cooking different (main) items each evening, such as burgers / fish / steak / pork and so on, we personally have no issue with the variety of food supplied and believe it was perfect options for us, my one and only main issue, which is quite important to me, was the lack of allergie information on the different items avalible, there were a few little boards with allergy advice scattered around, stating that some had nuts and some did not, my partner is allergic to nuts and has the potential to have an anaphylaxis shock due to them, with this is mind there was a sponge cake, that had no allergy warnings next to it, not only this but as we're suspicious on items we dont cook oursleves we asked a staff member to check for us to which they said no it had no alergins - luckily I tried it first to taste it, As it had or from what I could tell almonds inside, this wouldn't luckily kill my partner but would cause her to have a massive reaction, so my only advise - is to properly label your items correctly, as one small mistake could cause a major incident.
The room Our room was fine... for the ammount of time we were in it. there was a slight issue with the shower, I'm 6.2 and my head was touching the top of the shower, tilting it caused the poorly fitted shower head to spray water all over the ceiling, the soap despenser gave you a minor ammount in your hand so in result I had to take the bottle out to use it properly, there were a few minor scuffs and marks around the room, the mirror had some slight peels but I wouldn't say this was a main issue, the TV did not work properly we contacted the staff at the front twice, the first time clearly the message wasn't relayed to the engineers, the second time they acted prompt however the fault was still not fixed 10 minutes after the engineers left it happened again, so we decided to leave it to save the hassle again - the signal kept having an error so you were watching TV in the evening prior to bed and every 10 seconds it cut out saying no signal, so I feel sorry for anyone who has our room next as I'm certain the same issue will be there - room 434 if you read this soon you might be able to get it sorted properly and lastly the beds, two beds pushed together, for a romantic getaway - falling through the middle during the deed is not the one, but did cause a light bit of entertainment, due to this incident we had to tie the legs together so we could actually lay next to one another, Don't let this fool you though, the room itself was nice, the air-conditioning was incredible and the balcony was a great thing too.
The pool Absolutely no issue, the water was a tad cold but as expected and both pools we used were in excellent condition, the sun beds were sligtly cramped together, but due to the ammount of rooms avalible, it's understandable as to needing a good ammount of sun beds.
Staff Overall, the staff were very good, we had two minor issues, with one the wrong Information about food and clearly not getting the engineers to fix the TV initially but otherwise, exceptional - I'd like to know the hours they work because we saw the same people in the morning and in the evening I feel like they might be overworked.
The bar / free drinks The inclusive list for drinks I'd suggest was acceptable, couldn't really complain at all, the only main issue was the small cups given each time, by the time you walk from the bar to the sun lounger you need to walk back because you've finished it already with the beautiful heat beaming down on you.
So overall, our holiday was really special, Many...

Stayed mid may 2023
Travelled with 10 month old
Taxi from airport €32 and about 20 minutes brought our own car seat but airport taxi rank appeared to have a selection of seats to use
Reception area and main entrance immaculately clean
Room well presented 504 A block, few little issues but nothing major, main issue being the wardrobe in the room having a foul unidentifiable smell guessing coming from the bathroom vent pipes as it backs on, remedied this by visiting the nearby supermercadona and buying some gel air fresheners rather than having to move everything to another room, travel cot provided in the room is perfect for our little man, the sofa bed was an option for co-sleeping however it didn't feel safe when unfolded as the leg wanted to fold under itself, super comfy seat for 3am bottle feeds though. Utilised the desk as a nappy changing station which was handy and saved our backs alot of grief The room (standard double) didn't come with a kettle and I believe it's €22 to hire a kettle for the week so we opted to buy from FB market before the holiday for £5 which was a life saver however it did develop a bit of limescale through the week so worth checking and cleaning for your own piece of mind, combined with a nuby rapid cool (parents will understand) We brought a Milton bucket for bottle cleaning and the bathroom sink had a nice area for getting all the bottles cleaned. Fridge in the room is really handy for keeping things cool, however it will switch off if you take the card out for the rooms electricity (we just kept ours in all the time) Rooms air con works, but won't work if the balcony door is open as there is a switch on it. Lifts in A block are a bit quick at closing the doors so watch out with little ones and buggys, also doors are a little narrow so bigger prams and double buggies might struggle. I can't vouch for the other blocks lifts but we had a few close calls We requested a quiet room which agreed is far enough away from poolside and the hotels bar/entertainment as it overlooks the main entrance however the next door best delta hotels nightly entertainment can be a little noisy especially when it's the macarena at 23:30..... But luckily our little one slept through it all ok.
The pool area of the hotel was immaculate and very nice, the ground can be a little slippery when wet moreso if barefoot so watch out, the parasols are low but we never struggled to get a shaded spot when needed and also never struggled for a sunbed either. The daily pool entertainment/sports are good The snack bar is ok for something little to eat but can get a bit repetitive The drinks at the bar are nice (they are free so what's toe complain about) and the bar staff are real friendly Breakfast/lunch and dinner in the restaurant were good, some mystery meat surprises however me and my family (9 of us with 3 kids) didn't struggle to find something tasty to enjoy, our last night was mexican food which was brilliant. plenty high chairs to be found within as well and again the waiting staff and chefs deliver brilliant friendly service always with a smile on their faces. We didn't see much of the evening entertainment as dictated by our son's bedtime however when we did it was always a laugh, our younger nice really enjoyed the kids disco each night and the FRAM entertainment team truly do a brilliant job.
The location of the hotel appears to be in a sleepy commuter town, there isn't a vast amount locally, some supermarkets and a few local restaurants all within a short 10 minute walk, the bus stop outside the hotel was handy for days in arenel and palma, the direct buses are about 15 minutes quicker but limited space for prams/buggies and easy to navigate the bus timetables.
All in all a good first family holiday.
Keep up the good work team...
