A 2 star hotel in a shell of a soulless 5 star building. I don’t know where to start. I’m a keen traveller from London and stayed in many hotels from basic to high end. ||The Granada Palace is absolutely soulless. You are led into a grand reception area and greeted by reception staff who look tired, fed up and just waiting for their shift to end. Our family room was huge and had four double comfy beds and a big bathroom. However we had to move room on our 2nd night as the toilet was leaking and making a noise, we complained about this in the morning and they said it would be fixed but we arrived back at 11pm, to find it still leaking and noisy so we went down to the reception asking if we could move rooms. They allowed us to move but at nearly midnight they expected us to remove all our belongings too. I asked if we could do that in the morning as we are all tired but no -the hotel was empty so they really could have let us keep both rooms for one night as it was their fault we were having to move.||The bar - the worse place I have ever eaten and they act like they are given you Michelin food. Firstly you have to reach the hotel bar through a dark unlit corridor not inviting at all. The bar like the rest of the hotel lacks any atmosphere, oh and it doesn’t open until 8pm, so if you want a tea/coffee or alcoholic beverage from 11am -8pm in this 4 star hotel then you are directed by reception to the supermarket cafe round the corner in the town . The bar man was friendly though, as we had just arrived we were hungry so chose to eat there. My son and I ordered cous cous and chicken wings, it was literally 2 tablespoons of cous cous no seasoning or veg and 3 chicken wings 14 euros . My daughter had spare ribs ( microwaved) and 6 chips in a line for 18 euros. Dreadful ||Breakfast was a good variety but all the pastries were stale and the hot water for tea/coffee Luke warm||To top off our Christmas experience the cleaner threw away my daughter teeth aligners costing us £200 upon our return to get new ones. The hotel took accepted no responsibility of this. ||Overall our Christmas experience at the Granada Palace was really disappointing. Do not go here with any expectations of a high service or any warmth and you...
Read moreUPDATE - So we chose again this hotel for our ski trip because we really liked and enjoyed during our last stay a year ago. Didn’t take any pictures last time, but we were in a much bigger room, with a massive bathroom, with a bigger jacuzzi for 2 people. This time however we had a massive terrace ☺️ The room is still very comfortable, the bed is like sleeping on the clouds ☁️
Few downsides this time I’d like to mention is that there is no room service and the state of the fridge is quite unacceptable. 😓 There was no complimentary water in the room either.
Would still choose this hotel in the future and would also like to give a shoutout to Santiago who took care of us every morning during breakfast. ❤️
🕌 This was our 3rd time staying in Granada for a ski trip weekend this year and this hotel was the best! We definitely found the one we will stay in the future. ⛷ 🛎 Bright reception hall (the previous hotel we stayed at was so dark and depressing) and very friendly staff at every department. ✨ 🍳 Breakfast is good and lots of options, actual good coffee ☕️ and not that watery s*it you get at most places - 2 machines, 1 with coffee beans that is freshly grounded. Special mention to Carmen who had an outstanding service. ❤️ I hope the feedbacks get to her as I did see multiple mentions of her in the reviews. 🧖🏼♀️ Booked spa for one evening after a full day of skiing and it was just perfect. It was €30 for 2. The girl in the spa spoke very little English but helpful nevertheless. 2 hot jacuzzi, and 2 other bubbly pools, sauna, Turkish bath(this was closed during our stay) scent showers 🚿 and a relax area with hot tea to enjoy. 🛌 Room is very spacious and comfortable, small balcony, big bathroom with shower and a whirlpool bath 🛁 that we also made use of making a bubble bath and chill. I am looking forward to return during summer for a Granada trip and make use of the outdoor areas as well....
Read moreWe booked a junior suite for 3 nights on a driving tour of Spain. We arrived in the afternoon & checked into the large hotel after parking the car underground. |The room was enormous and very nice, however it was not clean with petals under the bed and on the floor around the mini bar, the carpet was not cleaned in one room and there was no soap in the bathroom. No tea or coffee available so we went downstairs but were told that the bar and cafeteria was shut and to walk around the corner where we could get a coffee, the only place we could find was a cafe in the shop but it was closed. The whole place was devoid of staff other than the very pleasant young girl on the front desk.|At this point we had had enough so asked to see the manager, he was duly sent for and we told him that we wanted to leave (through an interpreter) and wanted out money back. Long story short, we had booked through booking.com so the hotel had to pay them commission, the manager (possible the owner) was very reasonable and tried to entice us to stay but we weee at the point we just wanted to get out, anyway we stayed the night and the manager promised us our own waiter as long as we stayed, we went to the pool & were supplied (& topped up) with wine. However the glasses were still there the next day when we left.|Breakfast in the morning was a car crash with terrible service and awful food; we seemed to be the only people there.|It was branded as a 5* resort but frankly nothing could be further from the truth, 2* would be generous would be pushing it other than the very nice junior suite.|Management...
