Hotel Portocobo — Hotel in Oleiros

We spent few nights in this hotel last July while visiting A Coruña. We chose it because of the vicinity to the beach.||Our rooms had a view of the bay of Coruña and the tiny, lovely, Isla de Santa Cruz. They were clean and well appointed.||Rather than using the air conditioning, we opted to keep the windows open, enjoying the soothing sound of the waves lapping the beach. Generally the hotel was quiet, the only exception was the evening during which a wedding celebration took place in the area below our windows. It did not trouble us, but those with a lighter sleeping pattern may wish to opt for rooms further away from the terrace.||The hotel has a delightful garden where we were able to walk once (as it is not always open) of which we admired the well kept borders and the view from the shaded seats.||The public beach below the hotel is clean and was not crowded while we we there - end of July. It is in easy reach of the hotel via a path to the promenade that goes around the building.||We did not use the hotel’s restaurant as we wanted to try the local restaurants. ||The hotel is connected to Coruña by a bus (less than two euros per person, bus stop a short walk away). A taxi rank is in walking distance too, but the hotel staff was always kind in booking for us...

Estuvimos hace 5 años y nos encantó , la situación en la que está , el trato personal , la limpieza , la cena , el desayuno , todo en general . Este año volvimos e invitamos a unos amigos a conocer aquel hotel tan perfecto en el que estuvimos hace 5 años , nada más entrar yo tenía una reserva echa hacia 2 meses con vistas al mar , y el día antes hice la reserva de dos habitaciones para mis amigos por teléfono, después de llevarles 4 clientes , siendo el mismo tipo de habitación nos cobraron más caro que a ellos , habiendo echo la reserva por la página del hotel y la de ellos por teléfono||En fin subimos a las habitaciones y yo nada más entrar vi que nada era igual, suciedad y no me gustó nada , pero cuando bajamos pregunté si había cambiado de dueño, efectivamente me confirmaron que sí , después en la noche llevábamos la media pensión incluida , y la comida daba asco la verdad , las dos noches comimos lo mismo no había variedad y además mis amigas ,pidieron lo mismo al día anterior ,ya que había poco que elegir y no pudieron cenar nada , ya que era otro cocinero y estaba incomible ||Al día siguiente el desayuno otro desastre , un hotel de 4 estrellas , no puede tener los huevos hechos desde las 6 de la mañana y consentir que un cliente se coma eso a las 10 de la mañana, , ||Bueno pasamos el día fuera , y cuando volvimos por la tarde al hotel cual fue mi sorpresa que el día antes el grifo del víde no echaba agua , el cual arreglo mi marido , y mira por donde se quedó un pico de la toalla del víde encima de este , y señores no habían entrado siquiera en el baño a limpiar las toallas como las dejamos tal cual , ni las estiraron para disimular al menos ,ni siquiera entraron , y cuál fue nuestra sorpresa que destapamos la cama y ni siquiera habían estirado la sábana bajera solo taparon la cama con la colcha , no pasaron ni una mopa para quitar pelusas que ya había cuando llegamos el día anterior||Me dio muchísima vergüenza por mis amigos haberlos llevado a este hotelucho que en vez de 4 estrellas no le dejaba ninguna ||Y con esto no me estoy quejando de las camareras de piso , me quejo de los dueños y jefes de estos hoteles que las hacen trabajar como bestias y no les da tiempo a hacer tantas habitación, a estas alturas de temporada aunque estaba el hotel lleno , echan a los empleados a los ertes y ellos siguen cobrando ayudas del gobierno que pagamos todos, es una verdadera vergüenza que pagando unos servicios de un hotel de 4 estrellas , te hagan esto y traten a los clientes como basura , porque cobrarlo bien que lo cobran , no penséis que fue barato y más en las condiciones en que se encuentra el hotel , está en un enclave precioso , pero si alguna vez vuelvo por Santa Cruz de Oleiros , en la Coruña , nunca más me quedaré en tal basurero , de verdad deja mucho que desear , y lo peor fue que se lo recomendé a unos amigos de Pontevedra ,se vinieron con nosotros por estar un par de días más juntos ,ya que somos de Sevilla , y pase vergüenza NOS HOSPEDAMOS DEL 25 AL 27 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE ESTE AÑO 2021 Y DE VERDAD NUNCA MAS Y ACOSTUMBRO A NO FIARME MUCHAS VECES DE LOS MALOS COMENTARIOS , PORQUE HA VECES CUANDO LLEGAS A ALGUNOS HOTELES NO SON TAN MALOS COMO LO PITAN , PERO DE VERDAD NO SE LO RECOMIENDO A NADIE ,YO DESDE LUEGO NO VOLVERÉ Y MIS AMIGOS TAMPOCO ||COMO DIRÍA UN GALLEGO , NUCA MAIS , DAIS ASCO Y DEJÁIS MUCHO QUE DESEAR PARA TENER 4 ESTRELLAS , HASTA NUNCA , DE PARTE DE UNA...

This would be a great hotel hotel with small children as it is a very short stagger to a good beach, though the swimming is not great if the tide is low.||The hotel is very modern with well-equipped but slightly spartan bedrooms, comfortable beds and a good bathroom. It is a very short walk along the Esplanade to the port where there are lots of restaurant and bar options. Breakfast was pretty okay.||This area is very close La Coruña and is pretty over developed, so you have to go some distance for countryside. Having said that there are walks along the coast in both directions, and there is a little castle on an island right opposite the hotel, accessible by a walkway. Plenty of parking at the hotel. ||I guess in summer this area is a car park, but in September...
