Stayed here for one night while sightseeing the volcanoes around Olot. I did read in other reviews that there is a parking lot underground, but we used the ground level parking lot as there weren't too many people (we stayed on 15-16 February).
The room we stayed in was in a sort of 1960's style of room. It was very nice, two separate bedrooms with one dining table in each and one working table in one room. We had a mini freezer (without anything inside) a TV, a nice wheelchair accessible shower, and soaps, shower gel and shampoo, even a free comb!
The food was very good, I ordered lamb chops and orange juice, however something got mixed up and peach juice came back. My lamb came with salted fries, which I noticed were homemade, however were better than any other. My lamb however was very good, so good I scoured for any last bit of meat when I finished. (No it wasn't starvation, I was well fed) . Dessert was also good, it was a sort of crunchy pastry with sliced strawberries and cream in the structure of a burger. If you speak English and ask for an English menu, this comes up as a 'thousand sheets with strawberry'.
The hotel is on the outskirts of Town, but around a ten minute walk to reach the center. There are many things to do in Olot, especially visiting the volcano museum and the volcanos around it.
Overall, I had a very good stay there, lovely food and staff, amazing rooms, and...
Read more+update after second stay+ Some rooms have smell coming from kitchen all the time, and a bit of smell from pipes in the bathroom so you need to ventilate your room regularly. However, as always the staff is very helpful and friendly, so my stay was pleasant.
The view from my room was amazing, volcanoes, fields, birds and cicadas, you're in the middle of nature. Room was clean and well maintained, furniture is in classical style, bathroom is modern, everything was functional and working well. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice (omelette, bacon, eggs, yogurts, meat, cheese, bread, fresh fruit, etc). You can walk to city center in 10-15 mins and there is a lovely walking path through fields nearby. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, they always smile and greet guests so you feel well taken care of. The only downside is due to wooden doors there is little sound insulation, so you hear when someone walks in the corridor or talks in other room. As well there is smell coming from kitchen...
Read moreI had been camping on the Mediterranean and wanted a change. Riu Fluvia Hotel is very well situated in a peaceful area of Olot. It’s very bike friendly and many people take advantage of the cycling route around. The hotel foyer is quite opulent. Rooms were very well equipped with lovely ammenities in the bathroom including bidet. The actual room soft furnishings and furniture were a little old fashioned but it added to the charm. We took advantage each afternoon after cycling, of lying by the lovely pool area. You could place your pool lounges out under the trees which was divine. We didn’t dine in, except for breakfast, but the dining area was very well presented with beautiful table settings. The terrace had stunning views over the countryside. The hotel was very quiet with guest respectfully behaved around the public spaces. |I really loved staying here and it was great value for $. The centre of town was around a 20 minute walk. We had bikes so we covered the...
