Review for the hotel Arrival day We arrived in the evening, the transfer for us was 2 hours I would consider getting a taxi if you have young children. When we arrived we were greeted by the reception Andreas he was very informative and helpful. We arrived at 9pm thinking we wouldn’t have an option to have dinner that late however dinner is on until 9:30. He also mentioned they would put a cold meal together if we were later. We only really dealt with Andreas and his service was amazing remembering us by name which is a nice touch in a huge hotel.
There are some things to consider before deciding to travel to this hotel English people are rare, so if you don’t like the hotel being full of German, Dutch, French amongst others then this isn’t for you. We were one of 5 couples that were from England. This had no effect on our holiday. If you are expecting top notch food again this isn’t for you. It’s a Spanish 4 star AI, while the food is nice and there is a good mix of choices it’s not amazing. Salad bar is fresh, breakfast is OK lunch and dinner everyday it is different with a few staples chips, pasta etc. Someone mentioned no sauces, there are bowls of every sauce you could imagine. Honestly do a reckie of the food before deciding as nothing is set out in a way that makes sense. Charges, you expect in an AI hotel for everything to be included. It isn’t. But everything you need is, if you were frugal you could spend not a penny. Towels are €10 deposit, iron is €15 deposit, wifi per room for 2 devices is €15 however you can use the wifi for free in the lobby. They give you each a bottle of water upon arrival, they do not give you a new one everyday so keep hold of it. At each bar there is a water filling station which you are able to full your bottle yourself. There is a shop for snacks and water etc.
The entertainment is good, there were shows and some times the staff did music etc. The entertainment staff are always 100%, when you see them around the day time they are friendly and outgoing really makes a difference. Day time activities are there if you want to get involved if not you don’t feel obligated to do so there are options for kids and adults. In the evening they have a little kids disco and then the adults entertainment will start around 9pm-11pm (AI) from 11pm-12 they have music on but drinks are paid. They are not tight with drinks so just get a couple of rounds in and you’re usually alright till 12pm. At this time everything tends to close down. Carlos on the bar, quick efficient and professional.
In the day time there is a large pool area with shading or sun whichever suits you best. We were lucky that we didn’t struggle to get a bed we went down around 10am each morning. There is a pool bar open from 10:30 which has a bar and a snack bar. Good if you miss breakfast or don’t fancy going up for lunch. The pool doesn’t open until 10am which never bothered us but if you were an early bird this might. It is clean, quiet and there were 3/4 lifeguards at all times if you had children there would be nothing to worry about.
Overall I would struggle to find something bad to say, it is a little dated but is very clean so never bothered us, everything worked. The staff were amazing nothing was ever too much for them, overall an great chilled week away.
One thing I would note for the hotel would be helpful to have a kettle in the room, that is me being...
Read moreOur stay was perfect. I am going to write a long review as I feel it is helpful for others considering booking this hotel. ||We read some previous reviews and was a bit dubious about a few things. However I can’t complain about anything. ||We was welcomed by a guy who’s name I have forgot apologies but he was really friendly and we had welcome drinks on arrival. Our room was located in a quiet area near the infinity pool, it was spacious enough for 2 adults and a child and the house keeping kept it spotless. The gardens in this hotel are beautifully kept and every morning there were staff members ensuring the place was spotless, I’m an early riser and would watch the sunrise from a sun lounger at the pool, and there was always people cleaning the pools every morning. ||The views out to see and down towards sottovento beach are stunning! An I’m missing them already!||You aren’t supposed to reserve sunbeds but everyone did, but honestly it wasn’t a problem there are plenty an we never struggled to get one so I wouldn’t worry about this, an to be honest I reserved mine quite early but that’s because I wake up early everyday and had a very excited 6 year old! ||We did all inclusive, Breakfast was my fave meal the guy making the omelettes was so lovely and they were delicious! But all meal times were good. I have a fussy child an she ate well. There’s fresh salad and fruit everyday too.||Plenty of drinks stations and options, snack bar near the pool the servers were lovely in there too. We didn’t meet one staff member who wasn’t lovely to us. Not sure if it’s because we made the effort to engage and speak a little Spanish we do know, albeit not very well haha but they all were great. ||The animation team were so down to earth and fun, my little girl loved Lorenzo! All the entertainment by them was good the mini discos were fun for my daughter. She enjoyed the face painting. We didn’t attend the kids daytime club but mainly because she was having to much fun in the pool. ||We didn’t go to the entertainment every night mainly because we were so tired, but what we did attend was good. Live music, an all inclusive bar etc what more can you want.||As English people we were in the minority south of the island is more German people etc but it wasn’t a issue either, every other person staying there was mostly friendly there was the odd person who seemed a bit rude but whatever leave them to it :-) don’t let this put you off the area because it is stunning! ||We hired a car via Cicar and parked at the hotel for free and explored three island a bit. The beach 20 mins walk from the hotel sottavento is stunning you must go! 10 mins walk into Costa Calma which is very chilled and quiet but we went to a surf bar for a morning treat that did the best espresso martinis.||There’s a little beach 5 mins from the hotel which is also good a bit rocky but still nice, you can feed the chipmunks here too which we loved they weren’t shy!||We did the 50 euro bed hire at the hotel overlooking the sea, it was a last day treat but i wished we had done it everyday it was so relaxing and private with amazing views and the fruit platter and bottle off fizz was a nice touch worth paying the extra trust me! Photos attached. ||I have loads to say but I could go on for ages all in all we loved the hotel and would go back.||Thankyou for a...
Read moreHotel was very impressive and magnificent upon arrival. The reception staff were wonderful and understanding allowing us to proceed with dinner (we arrived very late shortly before the restaurant closed). The rooms were marvellous and clean also and we had a wonderful view from our balcony of the nightly entertainment.
However, the reason I could not give it 4 or 5 stars is I felt that the food was quite tasteless for the majority of the stay with little variation. The final day or two I did notice it improved significantly though. We also were told we couldn't have s jug of pepsi etc with no explanation, when several tables around us had just that. We also had to wait to be served drinks for a long time after sitting down whilst empty tables were laid or cleared before we were served. I'm not sure if this is down to the restaurant staff having to do additional duties because of the covid situation so a lack of training (normally we'd be able to get our own drinks etc I imagine), but it was still noticeable and did impact our stay, though we figured out the best tables where we could seemingly get served quickly towards the end of the stay.
I also found the all inclusive drinks and cocktails were very bad. To the point me and a friend bought our own alcohol from the local shop. The cocktails are also premade in a machine and taste sickly, unless you pay for one. This isn't a reflection on the bar staff, as they were generous with the alcohol and accommodating where possible, but I feel it was just a choice of the alcohol.
We were also only able to get sunbeds once in our stay. And that's only because we got up at the crack of dawn and waiting by an umbrella for 30minutes after breakfast for the beds to open. The rest of the time we had to stay on the grass. We did find a lovely spot close to the waterfront with nice breeze and views and ample sun, and the grass was nice and soft and still close to...
