Castillo Hotel Son Vida was an absolutely gorgeous property, which gave me a stunning view of Palma from my room, dining areas, the pool, and the lounge. It is very cool that they repurposed this old castle overlooking Palma into a luxury hotel. The staff here was also incredible: Jasmine and Adrienne went above and beyond to ensure that me and my colleagues had a great and friendly stay! Although the property and views were beautiful, and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating, this hotel was far from perfect. The cost of this hotel versus every other luxury hotel in Palma was ridiculous, it was roughly twice as expensive as any other property on the island. Son Vida is a very unfortunate location, because it is roughly 15-20 minutes from anywhere in Palma, so you will have to Taxi (long wait) or drive everywhere (parking is difficult to say the least). For an alarming $500 per night, I was beyond surprised to smell sewage on the main floor in some of the lounge areas and hallways! The hotel staff said that this frequently occurred, which is quite disgusting. Luckily this smell never permeated into my room on the same floor. My colleagues and I spent between 1 and 3 months at this property, so clearly we were not going to eat at their overpriced restaurant daily, but when we ordered takeout or delivery we were sternly told that we are not allowed to eat that on their property! All in all this is a beautiful property fit for kings and queens, who don't want to stay in the city of Palma, but I would happily have stayed elsewhere to save significant money and have a way nicer location in Palma.

We visited here in July and it was an edifying experience. Returned in August and it was a shambles. The hotel level of service is below average. Most mornings we had to find and sort our sun beds the pool attendant works from 7-6 apparently but at 1030 we were having to do it ourselves opening and securing umberellas and moving dirty food trays from the previous night and sourcing pool towels etc. The staff who clean and look after the property having little regard for Guests who want to sleep spending most of the day shouting to each other across hallways and entire restaurants dropping cutlery scraping furniture across the stone floors. The turn down service is erratic with soap and amenities not refilled. Water not always delivered. The garden rooms are inhabited by weeds and there is an overpowering scent of sewage in certain areas of the lower areas. Poolside service is hit and miss with guests having to traipse upstairs to find a drink. The breakfast seems to invoke queues when there are adequate tables available. Mobile phones are in use in all areas so that all guests are privy to simultaneous multiple loud conversations. A beautiful property and setting that has a handful of good staff but is generally lacking in the above areas of management.

Our incredible experience staying at Castillo Son Vida in Mallorca. This stunning 13th-century castle, nestled on a hill overlooking Palma, exceeded all our expectations. Our partner in Mallorca Elsa Fornes Grafe at Absolute DMC introduced us to Àgueda Pou at Castillo Hotel Son Vida Mallorca that spoiled us. After 2 days at this stunning castle we are amazed and just love it. A Dreamy Setting We were captivated by the castle's majestic beauty. The ancient stone walls, lush gardens, and breathtaking views of the city created a truly magical atmosphere. We got a lovely suite with a large balcony and a stunning view as you can see in the video. Unforgettable Dining The culinary experience at Castillo Son Vida was exceptional. We tried the hotel's fine dining restaurants, both indoors and on the terrace and was amazed. The outdoor terrace provide the perfect setting for an event in small and big numbers. Relaxation and Rejuvenation After a day of exploring Palma and later lounging by the pool, we found solace in the hotel's spa. A Perfect Getaway If your group is looking for a truly unforgettable event, we highly recommend Castillo Hotel Son Vida. The combination of history, luxury, and breathtaking beauty makes it the perfect venue.

I have just come back from this wonderful hotel and despite reading some negative reviews I couldn’t find anything to fault. This was our first stay her and really loved it. The staff are so lovely and it’s very noticeable how they have been trained to speak to guests. Nothing is too much for them, from breakfast staff..Paula who well fell in love with was just the most delightful girl who had the time to chat and nothing was too much for her. Pedro one of the concierge was a delight too telling us how he had been with the hotel for 31 years..You could just tell he was a long lasting employee. The pool staff were very accommodating, getting you towels and always helpful to move your umbrella into the shade!|We checked in quickly and waited for our room as we were early so had a lovely light lunch at pool cafe. Good choices of food and drinks, nicely presented. Our room was on 7th floor and had a nice balcony to the side of the hotel so we got the sun in the morning. Bed and pillows were very comfy and have fallen in love with the BYREDO products in the bathroom which were amazing.Good bath, shower, large bath towels and excellent hot water and good water pressure.plenty of bottled water every day in room as there is no shops in walking distance of hotel.Hair dryer was excellent too.Breakfast was excellent and very high quality food, fruit, homemade granola and amazing types of breads . Lovely cakes and beigles, smoked salmon, smashed avocado and excellent cheeses and of course any egg you wanted. Also a selection of different yogurts and milks. The fruit selection was of highest quality. You went inside to get the breakfast in two areas but we ate outside.only the first weekend was it busy so had to eat inside. Breakfast is on till 11 am every morning which we really liked. Also the tea was excellent, fresh tea brewed in a pot, very good indeed and good latte coffee. My only minor comment would be I feel they need to install a hot water/coffeemachine to quicken the service to get your drinks.|There is a bus stop outside hotel for 2 euros. The bus comes every hour at 15 min past the hour. It stops right outside El Corte Ingles in Jaume 111 and took 20/23 min. Coming back to be honest we picked up a taxi which was 11 euros.DO NOT use UBER as they charge double the price. Much cheaper to get taxi in street in Palma or order a taxi from hotel if you don’t want the bus.Sun loungers were easy to get at pool and no need to reserve early. They were also very comfortable.|We ate in the hotel restaurant which was outstanding. Very high quality fine dining food which was beautifully presented on lovely crockery. Often you could hear the live music from the bar which was lovely as you were having dinner but the music stopped at maybe 8.30/9.Again staff were well trained and service was good.hotel has lovely inside/outside bar too.|We had a welcome party a few days after we arrived and met with the General manager.lovely canopies were served together with a selection of cava/wine.Even the toilets round the hotel were supplied with ladies sanitary wear in a glass jar!!|I honestly can say this was such a beautiful holiday and as widely travelled guests we can both honestly say we were made very welcome and enjoyed our stay immensely.we...

It is like everyone has said in other reviews this place is one of the best places we have stayed at and we travel extensively and have stayed at all types of star levels and different types of hotels.. . .. but even if you are seasoned traveler this place will WOW you.

My wife and I have traveled extensively and have stayed at some nice places but this place left us with a "Wow" experience.

Oscar del Campo the General Manager and Starwood know what they are doing and deliver the best service possible.. . .the place exudes luxury and service at every turn from check in (late check in handled wonderfully by Mariano) to breakfast staff who work seamlessly amongst themselves to get you food and coffee every morning to evening drink staff .. . to concierge who gave us wonderful recommendations to valet who are all wonderful). Everyone I MEAN EVERYONE has been carefully selected and trained on how to treat people with respect, professionalism and friendliness.

Room: Beautiful room in 552 which had nice balcony and view of gardens. We loved this room but didnt stay much here as so much to enjpy

Facilities: The place has nice outdoor pool (we didnt use it as we had already spent a couple of days basking on Mediterranean sun at SPG Le Meridien Ra) and indoor pool with jacuzzi (which we didnt discover until were about to leave). The outdoor patio and terrace are just the best place to have a drink and enjoy Mallorca skyline. It was our favorite place to hang out and relax

Breakfast: This was a wonderful feast of all assortments of cold and warm food items for every palate. The cook in 2nd room makes omelettes and other warmer dishes and I must say you have to try his omelette as I have never tried such a delicious omelette which was so thin but delicious. Bravo to the cook.

Service: This is where this place shines.. . .my wife and I are still raving about our stay here

Misc: There is a special wine tasting event held in terrace every Wednesday night (Macià Batle is winery with whom they have special arrangement and you can tour winery free of charge if scheduled in advance before by concierge and if you are hotel guest)

Verdict: We can't wait to come back! My wife and I commented on how much we loved his experience and she even said "I would love to live here forever," and I agreed what a magical place.. . . Room Tip: Wed Night There is wine tasting event...
