Hotel Escalar — Hotel in Panticosa

We use this hotel every year and we know the staff very well. Firstly the hotel is only a 10 minuit walk from the ski slopes but there is a train that runs every half hour and picks you up with your skis right outside the hotel. The place has a pool and a games room which is fun for the kids. The staff are extremally friendly and helpful. The food is delicious (ask for boiled eggs - 3 mins). When you get to the slopes there is a ski hire shop that supplies you with skis and boots. Visited in the summer, so not stayed there during the ski season. Very friendly and helpful staff. Charming clean basic hotel. Clean rooms, with en-suite. Swimming pool (outdoor) was a bonus; clean and well looked after. Breakfast was basic buffet, but good and good value. Wifi is only in the lounge, not the all the hotel. Recommended if you find yourself in Panticosa...

Hotel 2 estrellas de calidad/precio correcta. Si tienes pensado ir de rutas de senderismo por la zona, es una opción bastante buena, aunque no nos pareció un hotel para estar más de 2/3 días.

PROS: El personal. Fueron muy amables en todo momento. La limpieza. Habitación bastante amplia. Baño con buen tamaño. La piscina. Con el calor es un plus, eso es así. Las vistas a las montañas son una pasada. Además es una zona donde poder relajarse y leer en sus hamacas. Parking. Plazas algo justas pero cubiertas. Otro plus.

CONTRAS: Hotel bastante anticuado a todos los niveles (decoración, seguridad, puertas, ventanas…). Sin ascensor. Camas de muelles (algo incomodas) y almohadas muy finas. Sin aire acondicionado. Nos tocó la habitación 101 y cuando abrimos las ventanas las vistas eran “impresionantes” (nos quedamos flasheados al abrir las ventanas). Nuestra habitación daba a una especie de callejón por donde pasaba gente y eso hacía que no pudiésemos tener la ventana abierta con cierta privacidad y tranquilidad. Tuvimos mala suerte en este aspecto.

En definitiva, un correcto hotel “de paso” por la zona...
