The b&b is located in a small, quiet farming village. The decor is very eclectic and from our point of view works well to give that sense of rustic appeal. When we arrived there was a note on the door advising us to ring the owners to arrange access. We did so and after about 10 minutes they arrived and we were ensconced in our room. We asked if we could get a couple of beers and they arrived within minutes. A welcome relief after the drive from Barcelona and up the mountain road to the village. As the restaurant didn't open until 9pm we went for a walk around the village and then rested up until 8pm. We then walked about 50 metres to a pub/cafe and had a few pre dinner drinks. The cafe owner and the locals were very friendly. At 9pm we walked back to the restaurant which is across the road from the rooms. The restaurant is quaint withi memorabilia from the owner Migual Angel's football days and little nick nacks that are consistent with the overall eclectic feel. The dinner was nice and Miguel and Maria are excellent,...
Read moreWe stayed one night and we liked the hotel very much. Cozy room, extremely friendly and accommodating host and staff. We went with two small kids and there are no rooms that accomodate 4 people but they were very flexible, added and extra bed and we made do by pushing the cot against the double bed to make a huge family bed. They did offer a second room but our kids are still too young. Nice and simple continental breakfast. Cute back yard. Quiet town just minutes from Alquézar in car and beautiful area in general. ||But we were disappointed with the restaurant for dinner. The local itself was quaint and rustic. A lot of charm. The food was homemade, like a Spanish mom would make, but only average and overpriced. You cannot choose what you eat, no choice at all, so picky eaters beware. Drinks are charge separately. For 35€ a person you can eat much better just about anywhere. The only thing the restaurant offers is convenience. No car required and you can roll right into bed...
Read moreWe spent a couple of nights in this family run hotel and restaurant, tucked away in a quiet village, within easy reach of all the major Somontano wine producers as well as the countless picturesque little towns nearby. The hotel rooms are arranged around an atrium lounge that feels like home, with its eclectic mix of furniture and ornaments collected over the years by the owners. Across the road, the restaurant is decorated with countless pictures, postcards and cuttings from past decades. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings - there's no menu, but the chef cooked up a couple of options for each course and we enjoyed sharing one of each. The taste was real Spanish home cooking at it's best and paired with a bottle of red from the nearby Vinas del Vero winery, we felt we'd eaten really well. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and we'd definitely return...
