Casas do Sarela — Hotel in Santiago de Compostela

Warning. This is not luxury accommodation. It is hostel grade. Booked for five nights, but had to move out after one. Issues as follows. Toilet seat was broken and hanging off, filthy kitchen cutlery, wine glasses had lipstick marks on, bedroom door broken, hairs in shower tray, broken ac. The location is terrible. Far out of town with very difficult road access. When these issues were raised, management was indifferent. A cursory credit was issued but we were left out of pocket for several nights. I booked two nights at Casa do Sarela, and everything looked just like in the photos. The place is unique — very quiet and secluded — and I really liked it, even though it wasn’t easy to get there. However, the whole experience was spoiled by how dirty the room was. The terrace also hadn’t been cleaned, which made it hard to enjoy.
