We stayed here after walking the Camino. |This is a copy of the mail I wrote to the manager, to which I have gotten no reply. I reached out to them on Facebook when they didn’t reply to my emails, and instead of answering me they have blocked me on Facebook. ||Date: 23/7 |The room we got, 2139, had a really bad smell and a running toilet, so we could not flush. We called the reception who would send someone over. We waited over an hour, a guy came, spend 20 minutes and then said he could not fix it today, so we had to go to the reception, where we got a new room, 2153. So we then had to pack up all our stuff again and move. The staff in the reception didn’t even say that they were sorry for the inconvenience at this point. |The first night in the new room 2153, we discovered that the air condition was not working properly, and also it was making a lot of noise, it did not cool the room down, causing in a very hot and humid room, so we did not get any sleep, resulting in that we had to cancel the guided tour we had booked for the day (the 24th.) ||Date: 24/7 |We told the reception about the aircon first thing in the morning. They said they would send someone. We then waited in our room mere then 1,5 hour, no one came. I went to the reception again and they said someone would come while we were at the pool. |Then we got back from the pool and they said the repairman had been there and checked and said that the aircon was working. We got to the room, it was not working and still making a lot of noise, making it impossible to sleep. |Back to the reception, who then offered us a third(!) room, we went to check the room and it was even more noisy from the aircon, which also didn’t really cool the room down either. So I got back, I asked to speak with the manager, the receptionist said she was not there but tomorrow morning she would be and that they would send her an email with my complaint, saying that I expected a form of compensation for the trouble, so she could be prepared for a conversation with me. ||Date:25/7 |The day after they said the same - “not here today, tomorrow.” Just pushing the problem until we had to check out. The receptionist then wrote the manager another email, in which she apparently just replied that the aircon was working fine because the repairman said so. This was very aggravating as we|were the one staying in the room, not the manager! |So I was promised that the manager would be there the next morning, the day of our checkout. ||Date: 26/7 ||I came to reception, expecting to finally talk with the manager, but, big surprise, no manager. |All in all we have spend more than 5 hours either waiting, speaking with the reception or moving between rooms during our stay.|Meanwhile no one in the staff offered a compensation for any of these issues. |This is totally unacceptable in a 4 star hotel, with a price of around 190 euro pr. Night! ||Also worth mentioning is that key cards constantly stopped working. So we had to go back and forth from the main building to the reception and back to the room around 7-8 times during the stay because the cards stopped working. This seemed like just a normal thing to the staff at the reception and they just reactivated the card and gave it back without even saying sorry for the inconvenience. ||It makes me really stressed and sad that I now have to deal with this after our holiday. ||So now we have checked out and left the hotel, and I am writing you, the manager,|with the hope that you will rectify this very stressful stay. I am attaching a video of the noise from the aircon, so you can hear just how...
Read moreWe arrived at Santiago de Compostela in the rain and left in the rain with the extra baggae of a poncho!! Obviously this was not the fault of the hotel in any way and they did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible.||Its situation is fantastic leaving those in the bedrooms on the city side with great views whereas our "deluxe room" had a great view of the car park with hourly interruptions from the beeping of the hotel shuttle bus backing into parking.||The reception, bar and restuarant staff were great but must pick out Elvis who ran the front of house at doinner single handed and with great ehthusiasm and fun. Unfortunately, room cleaners arrived at 10.30am and, on being asked to return in 30 monutes, did not reappear until late afternoon when we, having been out in between, were back and had made our own beds!||We had room service on the first night as, after a long journey, we did not feel up to waiting until 08.30 (instead of the usual 09.00 in a lot of Spanish Hotels) and, after three atempts to convince them that they DO serve it outside of dining rooms hours, it arrived. It is best summed up as being average althouh the vegetable soup was very good.||This experience almost put us off dining the next night in the hotel but being very chilly, we really did not want to drag ourselves into town. Thank goodnes we persvered as the whole experience was delighful, enjoyable and fun made possible with the excellent Elvis, it was the highlight of our stay which was otherwidse good value for money, enjoyable with comfortable beds and excellent bathroom, although quite a stuggle for an elderly person to get in and out of the shower...
Read moreMy recent experience at the Grand Hotel Los Abeto in Santiago de Compostela was a truly shocking customer experience!|After a long day of travel, my flight arrived late, and I checked into the hotel knowing the restaurant would be closed. I immediately asked the front desk if there was any food available. To my disbelief, the staff member told me the kitchen was closed and there was absolutely no food at all in the entire hotel!|This is completely unacceptable for a large hotel with what I can only assume is a massive kitchen. No snacks? No sandwiches? No room service option? The staff's response was a flat "no." When I asked if there was a vending machine for even a snack or a bottle of water, I was told there was none.|After traveling for hours, I was left completely stranded and hungry. I then asked if they could recommend anywhere nearby that was still open. The staff's response was equally unhelpful, offering no solutions or assistance whatsoever. It was as if they simply didn't care about the well-being of their guest.|The lack of basic hospitality and common sense here is appalling. It's clear that this hotel is not prepared to handle late-arriving guests and has no interest in providing a decent level of service. Do not stay here if you have any chance of arriving after the restaurant closes. You will be left on your own. My experience was a complete disaster and I would not recommend this...
