Stayed at this hotel on our Camino. We didn't think it was too far from the route, but it was a little out of the town. Because we got there late we thought we would eat at the hotel. The restaurant didn't open till 8pm, it was a long wait to take our orders. Then the food took forever. The two waitresses didn't seem to know whether they were coming or going. |We didn't get finished until neatly 10 pm, which is too late when you need to be up in the morning and rested. |The room was strange, at the front of the hotel, we had 4 beds between the two of us. All beds were very narrow, and there was a gap between them all. |Breakfast was fine, with plenty of variety and self-service. |Two stars knocked off for the slow service at dinner. And all the bags that needed to be moved on that morning just cluttered the whole of reception, and we needed to climb over them. Also, who puts a lift up 5 steep steps??? And there's no bathroom downstairs. Luckily, we didn't lock our room and were able to return...
Read more5* food but 3* rooms.||The hotel itself is undergoing a huge renovation, it appears they’ve started at the bottom (in the restaurant/bar) and are working their way up. The rooms are extremely basic and 3* at a push.||We stayed here for one night whilst hiking the Camino, the room was somewhat comfortable, but very very basic. It was okay for one night but I wouldn’t book to stay here again unless the whole hotel has been renovated, unfortunately our room hadn’t been. It was difficult to get comfortable and everything in the room was just so dated.||The food though, was absolutely amazing. They provided a set menu including starter, main and dessert. Between four of us we had langostines, salads and paella. Everything was fantastic, so different to the quality of the hotel, I would definitely come back to the restaurant as it was amazing value. The waiter was a little rude towards the end when paying by card which put a bit of a downer on...
Read moreThis 2 star hotel is located in Arcade, which is a small town with a major road running through it. The town reminds me of a big truck stop as there are many big rigs barrelling through. The hotel has that flavour too with a large hotel sign on top that flashes in red letters at night.
I had a room on the top floor, the third floor, with a balcony with chairs and a table. The view was towards the river. The room had the afternoon sun so ideal for doing laundry and letting clothes dry in the sun.
The room is dated but a nice size. The bathroom has a bidet but no hair dryer, the first hotel in nine different hotels without one. No mineral water in the room and breakfast is not included.
The breakfast is from a menu so it is a slow service compared to a buffet. The manager did treat me to a coffee and a pastry, a nice touch. Overall the stay was ok. The view and the afternoon sun were...
