Hotel Mar Azul — Hotel in Suances

Very bad experience. We could not spend a night in Hotel Mar Azul y Surf however we took the room for 2 hours.

Our 6 month old son was sick so we decided to go home, emergently. We asked them 2 days ago if it will be possible to cancel regarding our son’s health, they said no…

We tried, we came, we took the room for 2 hours, but our son’s health get worst and so we decided to go back home.

Considering the situation, the health of our son, we hoped for an ounce of understanding and compassion. Please know that you will not find it here. The reception is icy, the staff false. The hotel did not take the measure of our situation and did not want to reimburse us in any case, we negotiated, the negotiation ended by "paying half of the stay". The staff were short and rude and really not at all helpful. The exchanges, although we were very calm and diplomatic, ended up being stormy.

I would have liked a little more compassion and sympathy from the staff. We regret very much our visit if it is only 2 hours, the time to take the room, which I specify is really downgraded compared to the photos ... clearly the room are cheap, the walls are thin as paper and not as nicely decorated as announced ... The rooms were small, smelt of damp and were dirty, the fridge is a nightmare. The swimming pool is very small, just a pool 3 m long!

No matter how look the room is or how big the pool is… it's the service that is deplorable, our baby had to take his milk, we asked to heat it up, the waitress answer: "the microwave doesn't work", no solution proposed.

We regret our visit as short as it was, but we certainly don't regret having left...

But we would have spent a bad stay in this place considering the quality of the reception and the comfort of the room.

The only good point of Hotel Mar Azur y Surf, it’s closed...

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 2 teenager boys to conclude our 14 day trip through the north of spain. The hotel is very close (100m) to the beach AND has a open air swimming pool with sun terrace - what is quite exceptional in the north of spain, especially for a 3 star, not too expensive, hotel. I found we had a good price perfomance as we booked early through the internet. The hotel has a certain charm and everything you expect as minimum confort is there, so no worry. Nevertheless, I'm sure more can be done with the same facilities : as an example the sun-terrace could easily be transformed as a cosy place to gather to have a drink or even to have dinner outside (when weather allows in this very 'rainy' part of spain...). The staff is pretty helpful and we found this place a very relaxing spot to end...

La limpieza del hotel, bien. La atención, muy amables. La habitación chula. En mi opinión, en hoteles del mismo rango y en la misma zona, en el baño te ofrecen jabones, cepillo de dientes, pasta, gorro de ducha... en este baño no había nada de nada. En la mini nevera, tampoco. Basicamente la habitación no ofrecía nada. Cuando fuimos ibamos bastante cansadas ya que veníamos de un viaje largo, y a las 19:30 decidimos cerrar un poco los ojos.. a las 20:00 nos despertamos sobresaltadas porque vinieron una manada de adolescentes de algún colegio chillando y dando golpes y portazos y corriendo arriba y abajo sin control de profesores ni de nadie del hotel... Al principio entendíamos que no era hora de siesta y que bueno, aunque estuvieron bastante rato a los gritos y golpes, ya sabíamos que por la noche podríamos descansar igual. El problema es que cuando bajaron a cenar hicieron el mismo ruido, cuando subieron de cenar también, a las 12 de la noche se pusieron a cantar el cumpleaños feliz y a dar más portazos antes de dormir y a las 8 de la mañana también nos despertamos igual. Resultado: terminamos hasta el moño. No nos quejamos solo nos quedabamos una noche, pero hubiera estado bien que alguien del hotel hubiera puesto algún orden... Para rematar, ya que a las 8 nos despertaron decidimos bajar a desayunar y el desayuno era bastante triste y escaso. No había nada caliente (huevos, bacon...) y solo comimos unos cruasanes recién hechos. Todo lo que el grupo de niños se había comido, nadie se encargó de reponerlo. Sólo había un chico en barra que lo único que hacía era lavar taza tras taza tras taza... cuando solo eramos 3 parejas desayunando. En vez de reponer la leche, que había 3 cartones y los 3 estaban vacíos. O reponer el desayuno que sería más satisfactorio para los clientes y para compensar lo que pagas. Sin hablar de la cafetera que olía a humedo y te revolvía el estomago, o por ejemplo también los 3 o 4 tipos de zumo que tienen en jarras sin tapar y sin etiquetar, es decir, que tu antes de servirte el zumo tienes que oler todas las jarras para saber de qué es cada una y detrás de ti, vienen a olerla todos los demás clientes del hotel. Eso sí, para servirte el desayuno ponte guantes... jajajajajaja

Es una lástima, pero a pesar de todo los trabajadores han sido muy amables y el hotel muy bonito. Esperamos que tengan estos...
