Hotel Martin — Hotel in Toledo

I've given this hotel four stars based on its location, cleanliness and value for money. It is located in a quiet side street within walking distance of the historic centre of Toledo. Street parking was available around the hotel, and there was a large car park a few streets away. There is a decent sized garage right next to the hotel for motorcycles or bicycles.||||Firstly, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very clean and smart with marbled floors, and attractive features. Wifi was available and appeared to work reasonably well in the room, although going to the hotel lobby achieved the best signal. The rooms were small with limited storage space, but well appointed. The rooms were very clean with smart bed linen and comfortable beds. The en suite bathrooms had modern fixings and there were supplied toiletries.||||I have stayed at this hotel twice, and I would be very willing to stay again. Three of us stayed in one of the apartments at Hotel Martin and had a very pleasant experience. There were two single beds and a couch that pulled out into a bed. All were reasonably comfortable. The apartment did show some signs of wear and tear, but nothing that was made for an inconvenience or was severe enough to negatively impact our stay. The hotels are located in a building separate from the main hotel and (for what it's worth) are not handicapped accessible. The hotel staff was friendly and spoke sufficient English for conversation (none of us spoke Spanish). Breakfast is not cheap, but there is a good selection of meats, cheeses, and bread. We only chose breakfast on our last day as we had to hurry off to the airport. Dieses Hotel war unsere Basis für 2 Nächte, um Toledo zu entdecken. Das Zimmer 210 war geräumig und etwas altmodisch. Es gab einen grossen Flach-TV. Das Bad war unglaublich unpraktisch. Das könnte mit wenig Aufwand optimiert werden. Es gibt keinen einzigen Haken, um ein Handtuch aufzuhängen. Die Türe lässt sich nur 90° öffnen, dann steht sie an der Vorderseite des WCs an. Sitzt also jemand auf dem Thron, kann niemand rein oder raus. Es hätte einen Regenwasser-Duschkopf, aber der Wasserdruck ist zu schwach. Der normale Brausenkopf hält nicht in der Halterung.|Wir fanden nur eine Steckdose unter dem Pult und eine zweite im Bad. Die Klimaanlage war ineffizient und wurde erst auf Nachfrage eingeschaltet. Wir waren anfangs Oktober da, es regnete die ganze Zeit, war aber trotzdem sehr warm in den Räumen. Das Zimmer 210 geht zum kleinen Hof und ist sehr ruhig, aber man sieht vom Hotelflur und von gegenüber durch das Fenster hinein. Es gibt weisse Deckvorhänge, aber dann hat man drinnen auch kein Licht mehr. Alles war sehr sauber. Das Frühstück war OK. Parkplätze sind auf der Strasse genügend vorhanden. Die grünen Parkfelder sind für Anwohner, die orangen Parkfelder können von den Gästen benutzt werden. In der Innenstadt ist es fast unmöglich, ein Hotel mit Parkplatz zu finden. WLAN gratis im Empfangsbereich, im Zi 210 knapp nicht. An der Rezeption sprachen alle Mitarbeiter gut englisch und alle waren sehr freundlich und kompetent. Meine Empfehlung.|Zur Stadtmauer geht man zu Fuss in ca. 5 Min. |Zum Essen in Toledo möchte ich eine Anmerkung machen. Wir sind schon viel gereist in Spanien. Noch an keinem Ort haben wir so schlecht oder, wenn es gut war, so teuer gegessen wie in Toledo. Und noch nirgends wurden wir insgesamt unfreundlicher bedient. Das gilt für Toledo, nicht fürs Hotel. Trotzdem ist die Stadt wunderschön und hält viele Wow's bereit. Unbedingt als Erstes mit dem Touristenzug fahren. Und wenn Du in der Nacht zurück zum Hotel kommst, gehe noch auf einen Absacker in die Bar eine Parallelstrasse links.
