Perfectly pleasant hotel, nothing fancy but rooms were clean and tidy, with air con and mini fridge provided.
Some bathroom fixtures were loose and the silicone could use a refresh but nothing major. Shampoo and shower gel provided. Small pool outside with a handful of loungers, plus some other outdoor seating
Staff spoke good English and were happy to help order us a taxi, get an extra towel etc.
We booked online and paid on arrival.
There is a Lidl and a Mercadona a few minutes walk away - we didn't bother with the hotel breakfast.
For public transport from madrid we got the bus from moncloa bus station. The 613 stops just round the corner from the hotel, there are several others e.g. 612,611, which also go to torrelodones. To get the bus back into Madrid I recommend walking to the covered bus stop on the roundabout by the "espacio torrelodones" shopping centre where many different local buses stop on their way back to moncloa.
Be warned that none of the bus drivers we encountered spoke a word of English, nor had any patience for us who did. I would recommend you buy a 10-journey pass for the bus at moncloa from the information office. THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM THE METRO-BUS PASS but can be loaded onto that same multi travelcard. It is called a "bonobus interzonal zona a-b3" and cost €11.50 at time of writing. The bus driver may ask you to store your luggage in the compartment...
Read moreThe following is my opinion: We have been staying here for years and for years they had a great front desk staff that made overlooking the rest of their short comings easy. In the last few years the front desk staff has been less and less friendly and less helpful with a poor attitude. It was cold outside when we arrived and the heat in the lobby was stifling and very uncomfortable, I guess they don’t grasp the concept of having a thermostat or don’t know how to use it. What a complete waste of energy and what a needless expense to the owner. We arrived and asked the front desk if the safe in the room worked and were greeted with what in my opinion was an arrogant look that said without words “why would you ask such a stupid question” and were then told “if it does not work to call the front desk”. When we got to the room the safe did not work so we picked up the phone in the room to call the front desk and it too did not work. If you are looking for a hotel where you can roast in oppressive heat in the lobby while being greeted by front desk staff that speak and look at you with, what in our opinion with disdain, then this is the place for you. If I owned the hotel I would fire the front desk staff immediately and hire people who appreciate the opportunity to have a job and who have a desire to serve their guests. You have my sympathies If you are the owner and are...
Read moreFirst impression of this hotel was "wow"! Lovely gardens , in a quiet neighborhood. Check in was easy, we were given a ground floor room with a small private terrace, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Also has a fridge in the room and a hairdryer in the bathroom. There is a pool with a few sunloungers. (Open from 11-2 and 4-8). Staff were pleasant enough, always acknowledged you with a hello! Breakfast was varied and fresh, Nespresso coffee a nice touch. Easy to travel into Madrid by bus , stop is opposite the hotel, takes about 25 mins directly to the center of the city, where walking or the metro can be used to reach the main sights. Madrid is a fairly compact city to walk round. It was great to return to our room and sit outside with a glass of wine after a day in the hot, bustling city! I would not hesitate to recommend this...
