Booked this via Onthebeach in March 2024 for a holiday in August 2024. We paid just over £3300 for a week for a family of four. This was all inclusive including water park access. The good: - The Dino water park. No queues for anything and a good size. Only 8 slides. - The curry, lemon chicken, chocolate cake, BBQ pork ribs, allowing inflatables in the pools - Pizzas are made fresh and really good. The bad: - The enclosed slides have been painted apart from one so they are basically all pitch black inside which makes them feel quite samey. - The Dino water park is really quite tired. Rusty, paint flaking off and generally a bit decrepit. Kids don't care about though. - The hotel rooms are clean and functional. AC only in one room which isn't great. - The gym isn't there anymore despite the spec list and photos when we booked. I'm told it hasn't been there for three years. - The so called crispy duck was inedible. It was so rubbery, I recon. You could have played tennis with it. - On site supermarket. Only open 10am-6pm. No AC in there and there always seemed to be queue shaking round the shop whenever we went in there. - Football. It's not onsite. It's at the another HL hotel (The Rio), which is a 10 minute walk. This also took about 10 minutes to book a long with three people at reception. - Reception. Always seem to be a queue to do anything there and it always seed.ti be at least 6 people. Some people with enquires and others complaining. The Entertainment: - We were offered some children's entertainment for a couple of hours one envening. This was in a dingy and slightly creepy basement entertainment area under the main stage. No AC and one half was in darkness and used for storage of Christmas decorations. The activities looked very much home made and when we checked on our kids, the staff had just put on the Minions film. They charge you for this as well. The Disco is repeat every night just different staff in vaguely different outfits. Music: The entertainment stage plays different music to what the staff want to play behind the bar and it irritates me. Music and movie quizzes were entertaining as was the bingo. Sunbed Wars: Getting up early to reserve is a waste of time as the Lifeguard goes round and removes the towels for you to collect. Suits me fine as my kids now sleep later. Most of the sunbeds are fine, but yes there are some broken ones. The fights are for ones with umbrellas. Other better hotels will ha e canopies all round...this hotel did not. Coffee Machines: If you've been to Butlins, then it's the same machines. Pretty poor, but it is what it is. The Roast Offering: Just bad...Best to avoid. Very strange Yorkshire Puddings, but we are of course a long way from Yorkshire. The Menu... Repetitions: We have been to about eight All Includes hotels over the years. This is the only place where we have seen repeated menu items in a 7 day period. In this case, it was Lemon Chicken. It's good Lemon Chicken though. Location: Your a 20-30 minute walk from the Beach. Taxis were only €8 ish, so not so bad. We have stayed in Costa Teguise before and I'd recommend that location over this place. Room Shower: Really good. Excellent pressure and good temperature. Balcony: Very spacious and certainly bigger than what we have had in the past. Tiny Paper Cups: This is the way for drinks and they are flimsy as well. Other guests used their own cups which obviously worked well (we did not). The reality is, if you want better, you have to pay more, but we enjoyed our holiday here, but probably won't go back. Excursions We did Buggies, Catermeran and Para sailing. All really good and recommend. Pool Side Toilets: Several didn't have working locks. Far from ideal. Extras: - The safe - Wifi - Extended check out per person per hour! - Certain drinks and cocktails - Deposit for table tennis bats and ball (to be expected)

HL Paradise Island Hotel has both pros and cons. Food: The food in the main restaurant was absolutely delicious – a wide choice, fresh and tasty dishes. In the evenings, there was also a second restaurant with pizza, kebabs, and Chinese food, plus a grill outside the dining area. At the snack bar, I only tried the burgers – they were quite good. Pools and Dino Park: The hotel had three pools plus a small one for children, but it was always overcrowded and sunbeds were “reserved” with towels from early morning, despite the ban. A big advantage was the free daily entrance to Dino Park included in the all-inclusive package – much more space there, plenty of comfortable sunbeds, and great water slides for both younger and older kids. The children were entertained all day long, and parents could finally relax. Entertainment and kids club: The hotel’s kids club was run by a very friendly girl (I think from the Netherlands) – the children adored her, she had an amazing attitude and was definitely the right person in the right place. Unfortunately, the TUI kids club next door had strange rules – parents had to stay with the kids, which makes no sense. In the evenings, the mini disco started at 8:15 pm – the best nights were when the DJ and a girl (probably from Romania) hosted it, the kids had a blast. The weakest evening was when it was run by a blonde woman – the music selection didn’t fit the holiday mood at all. My suggestion: better stick to timeless hits that everyone knows and loves on vacation. Rooms and cleaning: The bungalows were quite nice, we had a room upstairs. The only downside was the shower – it was difficult to adjust the water so it wouldn’t flow straight onto the head. The cleaning service was the weakest I’ve ever experienced in a hotel – very superficial, usually just quickly sweeping the floor and changing towels. On top of that, cleaners often came at the worst possible time – right after lunch, when people want to rest. Cleanliness around the hotel: Another downside was the trash – plastic cups were flying everywhere, even though bins were just a few steps away. Of course, this is mainly the fault of careless guests, but the hotel should enforce cleanliness better. I wouldn’t be surprised if they introduce paid cups soon, like in Ibiza or Mallorca. Guest behavior: The most disappointing part was the behavior and lack of culture from some guests. In the restaurant, there seemed to be no dress code – some people came to breakfast in pajamas, to lunch in swimsuits, and in the evening wearing extremely inappropriate outfits. It was unpleasant and ruined the atmosphere during meals. To make things worse, on the night before our flight I didn’t get any sleep – a Polish woman downstairs was loudly talking and using lots of vulgar words, and later a drunk Englishwoman was banging on my door. Luckily the door had a proper lock, otherwise, she would have walked straight into my apartment. She was shouting and making a scene, probably too drunk to remember her room or she lost her card. Honestly, I expected better behavior and more decent people in a 4-star hotel, not this kind of “patology.” Summary: The hotel offers excellent food, a very good Dino Park, and plenty of fun for families with children. However, the poor cleaning service, lack of cleanliness around the pools, and the absence of rules regarding guest behavior and dress code really lower the overall impression. It’s a pity, because the hotel has great potential, but due to some guests and lack of control from the staff, the atmosphere often felt far from “four-star” standard.

So glad we didn't let the bad reviews put us off. Thanks to those who posted balanced views. |Heres mine...sorry its long. |Food overall I enjoyed every day, good variety breakfast, eggs many ways = scrambled. Boiled, fried, Spanish and French omelette, beans, sausages. Tom's, pancakes, toast, fresh and dried fruit, cereal, yoghurt, cold meats and cheese and salad available breakfast and main meal times aswell as at the snack bar. variety of teas and coffees including decaf and alternative milks. Lunch and evening meals a great variety in my opinion, something for everyone. Chicken, pork. Beef and fish, Veg, salad, potatoes, rice, pastas, pizza kids station. We had a family of 10 all with different food preferences plus allergies. |We have been in 4* AI that has not been as good as this. Allergens are all listed and you can get cards from reception. |Negatives: bacon not great. Deserts were pretty similar each day, cakes not brill. Ice cream hubby and kids said was lovely, my son has allergies so expects to struggle with deserts, staff advised not yo have any cakes but ice cream was OK for him thankfully. Some foods were missing allergen labels but when I asked about ice cream it was added. |Kids said some things were too salty for them. |Drinks were decent for 3, lager drinkers were happy with the taste, not so with the size of the cups. 3 drinks allowed per person so effectively you get just over a pint maybe 1.5 each bar trip but the queue was only ever a few people so not so bad. Maybe this is worse in peak times. Self serve lager, wine, sangria and soft drinks with main meal. Water and soft drinks self serve through the day in pool bar and water in reception at all times. |Sunbeds were never an issue no matter what time we got to the pool each day. The pool was lovely, yes a little chilly and took a few mins for me to get in but kids jumped straight in and once in it was fine. Many fun hours spent there. |Negatives: the surface around the pool could be improved, is ready for a refurb. |Rooms, we had 3 and they varied in their up keep, they're OK but some signs of being ready for refurbishment which is currently ongoing. Thus didn't bother us and the ongoing work was not near us so we were not affected by that. We dud see some rooms that were being worked on while walking around the complex, the mattresses piled up might bother some if that was your daily view but as we were located away from this it was no issue. The rooms centrally located are likely most noisy as you get the thoroughfare to the kids play area and water slides. We were located at the bottom of the complex over looking a quiet road and it was ideal. Ground floor rooms have large patio area and benefit from some shade from the balcony above. I loved ours and enjoyed the sunrise each morning sitting out there. |Negatives: the large space could be utilised better with a couple of sunbeds for each room and there's a rear terrace balcony in addition which is great but wasted as no furniture on there. |The sealant around the shower had gone so had to soak up a puddle after showers. But as already mentioned they are being refurbished currently| Our patio door did not lock on arrival, we informed reception when we went for evening meal, it was fixed when we returned so we could not have asked for better service. |Water park is good for little ones and ok for big kids like mine and myself for an hours entertainment. It's a little dated but again perfectly acceptable standard for 3, attentive and friendly lifeguards. |Entertainment and kids club I can't really comment on we only joined in bingo and the greatest showman evening show which was enjoyed by those who like that sort of thing. Evening entertainment appears to rotate with other HL hotels so you're getting the same as the 4* across the road. |It is a bit of a walk to bars, shops, beach etc(15mins) but taxis are 5euros to town/marina and there's courtesy bus from hotel or no 30 bus stops outside. Plenty of options. If you like walking the volcano opposite is great to walk up and the promenade runs for miles of lovely walking/running. Can be found 10 min walk thurn right at the bottom of the road. |Beds in main bedrooms, 1 of them was twins put together, the other room we had was a large kingsize double. So maybe request your preference if a couple vs friends etc. Lounge was 2 sofa beds. Found to be comfy, others have said they needed matress toppers but we didn't. |We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and feel we got a bargain holiday. I was really worried with some comments such as hell hole etc! If you go with realistic expectations, a decent 3* on the whole you should...

We were lucky enough to catch great weather in March. We got this trip on a great deal so we're quite open minded. Overall we enjoyed our experience but there were a few concerns.

The hotel grounds are well kept, plants look well maintained. Cleanliness in communal areas is also good. The hotel layout is great, no high-rise buildings casting shade. The main pool is freezing, which may sound great given the hot weather but it was quite unbearable. The children's area looked really fun, decent amount of slides, mini car track and playground, although it definitely needs a makeover

One thing that drove us insane was the music in the pool area. Constant stopping, starting, repeating, disconnections, Spotify ads and the same songs in a similar order daily, some of which are very depressing. The songs clashed, it could go from High School Musical to Motley Crüe. It's very loud which is perhaps to drown out the noise of the construction work happening beside the pool. If there was a playlist, shuffling a large array of upbeat songs, it would totally change the pool experience, Spotify Premium is also a must

The hotel offers a coach service dropping guests to the beach and back again twice a day. There is also an option to use the facilities in their sister hotel HL Club. The on-site shop is good with a variety of products which is helpful as the hotel is a stretch from the town with no local shops surrounding but prices are driven up compared to the shops in town

The restaurant team are very fast at clearing tables and offering help. The bar is well staffed and efficient, soft drinks are self-serve allowing queues to be much shorter. Reception are cheerful and help with cab bookings. Photographers are great around the pool area. The Animation Team were happy and offered activities during the day. We were unimpressed with the cleaners, hoovering of our room was not performed during our 2 week stay (Wearing flip-flops in the room as our feet were getting filthy), bins infrequently emptied, glasses left dirty and there are no 'Do Not Disturb' signs so if you don't hear the cleaner quietly buzz the bell, they will barge in

As mentioned before, we're open-minded but we weren't impressed with evening entertainment and didn't stick around for long. Starts at 9:30, leaving a large gap between dinner time and the show. The shows were also quite sporadic and badly planned, the boards inside and outside would have conflicting shows advertised. On a few occasions, the original show was replaced with something else last minute, but Karaoke was cancelled altogether. The space in which the shows are performed is cramped and it's unlikely you will get a seat

Unfortunately we didn't enjoy the food much, we ate at outside restaurants often. There is a lack of variety as they only opened up one side of the restaurant. Breakfast never differed, pancakes are terrible, rock hard and rubbery. Lunch and dinner options looked good but tasted bland or had too much garlic. Roasted and slow-cooked meats were good, vegetables were fine and the pizza was nice when prepared by the right chef, there was a chef who would undercook it, making it doughey and sloppy. The themes were repeated often, if you're not interested in the cuisine, you're left with little to no option. Chinese was common but the noodles were Linguini pasta which was odd. Soft drinks, hot drinks and alcoholic drinks in the restaurant and bar were good

I'm more than certain that the rooms are receiving a makeover as mentioned. At the moment, it is very dated and tatty, furniture was chipped and dented but the bathroom is modern and fresh. We had two balconies and the living space has potential if it was modernised, the small kitchen appliances were handy. Walls are thin, sound-proofing would be good as we could hear snoring. The bed has a firm mattress which my partner struggled to sleep on. The beds are singles pushed together on wheels that separate and roll around. Towels in the bathroom are faded and musty.

Would possibly return if some above changes...
