We came from Germany via France an were happy to get a place for our VW Campervan there during the year before Corona. We liked to go biking from the spot to the nearby places and the City of Zarautz. After the Corona Crisis we are happy to revisit the place and the nearby waves for bodyboarding and surfing in summer of 2023. They make no reservations but are busy and helpful to get a place for spontaneus visitors. The people there are very friendly to visitors as all people from the basque part of spain. The cooking of the basque people is very good and the prices for their products are fair. You can get surf lessons from there. The local surfers are very friendly to the beginner surfers or body boarders like me and like to share the best waves with us. I remember a young man telling me: "this wave is for you". On the other hand you can see good surfers and how the catch the waves if you leave the wave for one of them.

Read moreI went to this campsite because it was cheap and I wanted to go surfing with my friends. When we first arrived, the workers looked at us badly. They even asked me if I had showered, and if not, "they don't allow dirty people in the campsite". I took it as a joke, and acted as if nothing had happened. That same night we left the surfboards where the workers told us. But the next day I found them broken and scratched. Seeing this, I complained to the staff and they told me that it had nothing to do with them. Despite this, I continued to the campsite and went to a shop to buy another surfboard. Finally, on the last day, a group of people urinated on the other plot, next to our caravan. When we complained to the campsite guard, he threw us out. Because of all this, I asked for a complaints form, they refused and we ended up shouting at the staff. Horrible camping, I do not recommend it under any...
Read moreThe camping is in a lovely location. One can reach the beach by a 10 minute walk. They do a good job setting different kind of people apart: families, calm campers and surfers. There were extremely many surfers when we got there but the plot we got was rather calm. They offered us a plot on a slope with the possibility to move to a flatter one when someone moved out. The staff were well organized and polite. There's a room with kickers and plugs to charge the phone by the bar.
The only drawbacks were the bathrooms: really few showers available, which were always full and not often clean, there was no possibility of water regulation (only push button) and the toilet paper for the toilets was not in the closet but in the middle of...
