Walking through the streets next to Unawatuna Beach we pass a few nice places to stay. Nearing the end of the main street across the road from Kingfisher Hotel (fancy hotel) there is a gate and driveway with a sign "Brinkwater Guest House" I peer at my girlfriend and sigh.||At the end of the driveway an elderly couple greet us with a warming welcome and take us to our room.||The room is spacious with a little balcony. It contains a queen size bed with a mosquito net (must need in Sri Lanka), bathroom is clean and shower worked well (Shower standards in Sri Lanka not that high).||The owners of this property are what make this place even more special they are so welcoming and friendly. ||Upon going to the beach I asked for a beach towel unfortunatly there was none avaliable so we were given normal towels ( I was happy just to recieve a towel). On return from the beach the owners wife was sitting there with two fresh beach towels. She had washed these and waited for us to return (who does this? a sign of a quality caring person). ||If you are looking for somewhere fancy Brinkhouse is not your place. However if you are looking for something basic with all essentials, great family customer service, situated in the heart of Unawatuna Beach this place is surely...
Read moreBrinkhouse is a very good place to stay. It has nice rooms (from simply to luxury) with correct prices, it is next to the sea (just cross the small street and you are in a part of the see where you can swim safe : the bay on the right side), it is next to the forest to have a walk to Jungle Beach, it is a quiet place (rooms have a terrace and vieuw on the forest) , breakfast is very good, and the owner shall help you with all your questions. They arrange also airporttransport for a very good price. Uposite Brinkhouse you have the best restaurtant from Unawatuna : King Fisher. Good to know : from this year the highway to the airport is finished, so when you can do normal drive (no traffic jam and no dammage like we did on saturdayevening) it is only 2 hours driving from Unawatuna to the Colombo...

The family who runs this B&B style accommodation are so lovely. The breakfast was honestly the best we have eaten in the past 2 weeks of travelling.
I normally would have taken a photo however, the food distracted my attention for a change ~ it was never ending dish after dish 😋
The bed / room was lovely and came with a fridge, teas and coffee with a relaxing balcony to unwind on.
