Hillcrest Lodge — Hotel in Sri Lanka

The lodge is very close to Gregory Lake and Moon plains. While the distance is close, the rooms could have been bigger and cleaner. The paint on the room's wall had distorted and the room smelled rancid. The bathrooms were clean but the towels provided were dirty with spots of dirt. The room has space for only a double bed and absolutely no space to get down on either of the sides. You have to crawl your way to the other side of the bed to get up. The stay has a dedicated drinking/smoking zone kinda lobby where you can spend some time during the evening watching sunset happen at Gregory Lake. The hosts were kind and courteous and explained us about all our doubts. The road leading to the lodge is broken and the parking is messy at the stay. Average rooms for a one night stay. We were promised hot water but the water was not even lukewarm...

I stayed in this room during my recent trip to Nuwara Eliya and had a great experience. The room was very clean, cozy, and well-prepared for the cold weather. The bed was warm and comfortable, and everything was in good condition.

The location is close to the town, so it was easy to get around. The view from the room was beautiful – misty mountains and peaceful surroundings.
