Spend remarkable 2 nights in this lovely place with my wife. For sure (except for 1 or 2) any other place in Haputhale can offer the quietness and amazing view, highest mountain in SL to the left (NW) and South Eastern coastal areas in a clear morning(06:00 - 06:35) if you're lucky enough.
Make sure to be in balcony before the sunrises which shows the magical wonders of mother nature. Honestly I dont have words to explain the beauty of the moment.
Its 1.5km from the town and can be little difficult if you decide to walk through couple of hills but easily can take a tuk tuk. No matter what the quietness in this place is awesome. Not to forget there is a small cliff in front of the hotel which is a private property but nothing to worry, which you must climb (12M max) reveals the (SE) Western low lands and no human settlements to be seen except for tea factory to (SW) which is only a 1 km.
Personally I believe its very safe as its located in the middle of the village with lots of friendly kids.
If you're there to enjoy the scenery and the climate this is the best place for the...
Read moreWe had two nights here as part of a three week trip in Sri Lanka. The owner and guys running the place were friendly and helpful. We ate dinner here both nights. It was delicious curry and rice and very cheap. The breakfast was also excellent. The kitchen and tableware was clean and neat. It was a shame however that in both rooms we had cold showers. The rooms were cold and damp and the lounge furniture mouldy. We had a bottom sheet and then covers on the beds that were not clean or warm. |The owner has a great restaurant too and we had lunch there. Milkshakes, coffee, fried rice etc. set in an old factory with plants etc and great vibe. |If they spend some time and money sorting out the rooms and lounge they would have a good business. I wouldn’t stay again due to mound,...
Read moreI booked this place as it was located 20 minute walk from town, and had great views. Ravi, the manager cooks a great breakfast and there is a menu should you decide to have dinner there. There is a great lounge area where you can watch sports on the 3D TV. Room was fine but unfortunately I woke up in the middle of my first night there and found a hard tick attached to my chest. Ravi insisted that it did not come from the bedsheets but I would have to disagree. The owner runs a cafe/tea shop a couple of kilometers out of town. Try the strawberry milk shakes, excellent with real strawberries and ice cream! I had two and was...
