Polo Region Rest Inn — Hotel in Sri Lanka

This is a really ideal place if you stay in Haputale. The hotel located less than 1Km from the main city of Haputale. The hotel has a fantastic view of the mountains and the rail road.I am pretty sure it would be a pleasant view in the morning with the mist of the cold weather. My room and the bathroom were cleaned well, and had a great hot water that is must in Haputale. The owner and his family gave me a great hospitality and definitely their little kid will make more happy on you too. The hotel has a good car park which is most of the hotels in Haputale do not have. The hotel has small restaurant that can get homemade food. The owner will arrange a transport if you need to go Lipton seat. If you travel by your own car, I recommend you to go to Lipton seat by hired van specially for the busy days in Haputale as I did. The road condition is not so good for a car and the road is so narrow. Its better to go there with a local driver who has good experience on driving to Lipton seat. So finally I am so happy everything during my staying at the hotel and highly recommend this...

"Polo"has super landscapes. So someone may think that Polo is one of famous luxurious hotels. ||If he thinks so, he finds some week-points in Polo. Bed codition, only two blankets, too cool, distance from town....etc.||||But realy Polo is only one of home-stay in Sri Lanka. Thinking so, you can find many good points in Polo. Low cost, exellent views, friendly family....etc.||||There is not any soft and flufly bed in Sri Lanka home.||August and september are best months in Haputale. But it is so cool in these months. You had better have some warm wear in bed. In other months, it is more cold.||||You can have nice lunch and dinner in Polo. Their cost are reasonable. In town restaurants, they are expensive and too oily.||||Polo is too far to walk from town and station. It is no probrem. You can hire tuktuk. Its cost is Rs.100.||||If you want to go to Horton Plains National Park, Polo can arrange your trip. One people's car or tuktuk cost is about Rs.3500. And its entrance fee is about Rs.3600. It is so beautiful and more cold...

Last visit Dec 2021. Excellent Location along the Haputale-Temple Road (Road to Adisham). Ez access parking available for three vehicles inside the premises. Take a left turn from the Haputale junction if you are coming from Beragala. Close to many attractions even walking distance to few. We got Western view it was amazing.

Its a family place for sure, Mr. Maalinda and his family are very accommodative and helpful. Food is excellent we had traditional breakfast. I was with my 2 year old and their family was like ours. Thank you for being so supportive.

The place is purpose built and the price is reasonable, the family room is good if you have kids. Wooden interior has a good feel when you feel the cold bcz you are practically in the clouds. Bathrooms have instant water heaters but no Geyser so you have to manage and improvise if you don't want to touch the cold water. Beds are very comfortable and clean.
