Scandic Örebro Central — Hotel in Örebro kommun

On the first night, we were given a different room because the room we had booked where dogs were allowed was unavailable despite our confirmed booking. On the second night, we got the correct room. Unfortunately, something was wrong with the air conditioning, so it made much noise all night. The room was very cold and we were unable to adjust the temperature further up. Additionally, the curtains were stuck and could not be closed fully, so the bright light shone through and woke us up early. Therefore, we were not able to sleep well on the second night.

On the second evening, we asked the receptionists kindly whether eating outside food in the restaurant area was OK, which they approved. The receptionists even gave us eight plates and cutlery and watched us sit down in the restaurant area. About an hour later, a disgruntled hotel employee informed us crassly that it was forbidden to bring food there. When we informed him that his colleagues had approved, he stomped off to speak with them, only to return and scold us further for their misunderstanding and inability to communicate.

A few days after our stay, one family (from our party of three families) noticed their card had been charged three times. They had to contact the hotel and their bank to get a refund for the two excessive charges.

In summary, the hotel facilities were nice, and the staff was helpful, except for the irritated guy in the restaurant. The breakfast was good, and we appreciated that our dog was allowed to lay under the table in the restaurant. The hotel is dog certainly friendly! The hotel seems to be recent (2022 probably), 5 min away from the central train station. It is super clean, the spaces are generous and in the trend of modern hotels. I arrived after 22:00, no problem, the receptionist team was there, even if the system did not want to bill me. The restaurant/bar is opened till 1:00 AM with was a good surprise for me, since I did not have dinner (you'll find shrimp sandwiches, simple dishes and pizza).|The room is top notch, clean, modern, and in perfect conditions. Wir wollten auf unserer, hauptsächlich mit der Bahn durchgeführten Reise durch Schweden eine Bootsfahrt auf dem Götakanal unternehmen. Die Saison ging schon zu Ende und einer der wenigen Tagesausflüge, die es noch gab, war eine Fahrt ab Töreboda, eine knappe Bahnstunde von Örebro entfernt, mit Bustransfer zum Ausganspunkt zurück. Da Örebro die nächstgelegene größere Stadt mit umfangreichen Hotelangebot war, beschlossen wir dort zwei Nächte zu bleiben und von dort mit der Bahn zum Götakanal und wieder zurück zu fahren. Örebro selbst fanden wir nicht sehr interessant. Wir wählten das Hotel Scandic Örebro Central, für Bahnreisende ideal in der Nähe das Hauptbahnhofs gelegen.||Ein moderner Bau, freundlicher Empfang an der Rezeption. Gleich beim Check-in wurden wir gefragt, ob wir während des zweitägigen Aufenthalts eine Zwischenreinigung des Zimmers wünschten. Wie in zahlreichen Kettenhotels üblich, werden die Zimmer bei mehrtägigen Aufenthalten zwischendurch nur auf Wunsch gereinigt und Bettwäsche und Handtücher gewechselt. Mir persönlich ist allerdings die von manchen Hotels praktizierte opt-out Lösung, wo man mit einem Hänger an der Zimmertür kundtut, dass man keine Reinigung braucht, lieber. Neben der Rezeption eine Espressomaschine zur Selbstbedienung für einen kostenfreien Kaffee. Leider defekt, wie uns die Rezeptionistin sagte, und uns ins Restaurant zur normalerweise für das Frühstück genützten Maschine verwies.|Das Zimmer, Kategorie Standard, war ausreichend groß (ist nach unserer Erfahrung nicht in allen Scandic Hotels so) und hatte die übliche Einrichtung von Scandic Standardzimmern in Schweden. Das heißt kein Kleiderschrank, dafür ein Kleiderständer, gleichzeitig Halterung für ein Bügelbrett und ein Bügeleisen. Nach vielen Beiträgen auf diese Website dürfte für Reisende aus dem deutschen Sprachraum der Schrank wesentlich sein. Für solche aus Schweden scheint es das Bügelbrett zu sein, denn es ist in vielen schwedischen Hotels zu finden. Wir brauchen jedenfalls bei einem Kurzaufenthalt beides nicht. Die Ablagemöglichkeiten waren also sehr beschränkt, es gab aber einen Safe, was ich schon sehr schätze.||An der Seite das Hotels an dem sich unser Zimmer befand, führte eine vierspurige Straße und ein Industrie-Anschlussgleis vorbei. Einmal wurden dort mitten in der Nacht Güterwagen zur einem Industriebetrieb verschoben, inklusive Gebimmel eines schließenden Bahnschrankens und dem Sound einer Diesellok.
