Hotell Amadeus — Hotel in Halmstads kommun

The position of this hotel is pretty good. It is quite central and at walking distance from restaurants and the city center.||We could park with the car on the street, which was not exactly close to the hotel but close enough. The instructions from the staff were though a bit unclear, but we figured it out anyway.||Otherwise, the check in went smooth and we entered the hotel, that still has some details from the 50-60s (I guess), like for example the interior of the elevator and some detail in the corridor.||I had a room on the 4th floor. The wifi worked very well, the room was quite ok in size. It lacked an hanger for the coat and a place where to put the bags. There was a quite ok desk and the bed was pretty comfortable. ||Unfortunately it was a rainy day and the rain disturbed my sleep although I kept the window closed. ||The bathroom was very tiny. It took a while to realize that the shower was just above the sink and in order to take a shower one has to move a wall somehow. It was also a bit interesting to figure out how to open the tap water without getting water everywhere.||The room was reasonably clean, the bathroom could get a touch of freshness (well, it wouldn't help with the strange construction: it felt like being on a night train).||Breakfast was very swedish oriented with not a major choice of food to eat, but quite the essential.||Getting a tray can be comfortable but give a bit "canteen" sensation.||I didn't eat much breakfast that day for a reason or another. What I took was quite ok, but I still think that having a real coffee in the morning (and not one from the machine) is a nice touch in every hotel. The interior of the breakfast restaurant was a bit obsolete, still giving the canteen sensation.||Alltogether the stay at this hotel was quite alright. It didn't exceed expectations, but it met at least the comfort of a decent bed where to sleep, which is something people should not underestimate, although this is not a fancy...

Hotel Amadeus är ett centralt, men lugnt beläget hotell i Halmstad. Det är bara en kort promenad till Stora Torg. Tågstation och flygplats finns inom några kilometers avstånd.

Här finns 65 rum som renoveras löpande. Alla rum fick nya badrum 2012-13. Rummen är utrustade med TV, telefon och fri tillgång till Wifi. På alla rum finns ett skrivbord och en TV-fåtölj. Flera av rummen har dessutom fått nya sängar i år.

Städning av rummen genomförs dagligen (och handdukarna byts ut vid behov.)

Receptionen är öppen 06:30-23:30 på vardagar och 07:00-24:00 på helger.

För parkering får man som gäst ett parkeringstillstånd vid incheckning och har sedan tillgång till fri parkering ca 50 meter från hotellentrén.

Varje vardagsmorgon serveras frukost 06:30-09:30 och på helgerna 07:00-10:00. Här finns nybakade frallor, mörkt bröd, fil och yoghurt eller äggröra och köttbullar för den som vill ha det. Som gäst har du alltid, under receptionens öppettider, tillgång till kaffe, te och juice.

I hotellets källare finns en mysig relaxavdelning med torrbastu och en liten ångbastu. För den som önskar träna så samarbetar vi med Actic Simhallsbadet. Om man föredrar träning i form av löpning finns Galgberget med olika slingor en kort löprunda bort eller så kan man följa Prins Bertils stig ut till Tylösand (ca 12 km).

Hotel Amadeus ägs sedan 2006 av familjen Tran och har sex anställda. Det mesta av arbetet sköts inom hotellet av ägarna och de anställda, t.ex. tvättas all tvätt på hotellet. Företaget har de senaste åren haft en bra och stadig beläggning, året runt, vilket är viktigt i en stad där mycket är fokuserat på sommarperioden. Här finns en återkommande kundkrets både i form av företag och privata gäster.

Miljöarbetet på hotelletHotellet har för närvarande ingen miljömärkning men arbetar varje dag med vår miljöpolicy. Hotellet har från 2006 arbetat mycket med miljöarbetet.

Vi källsorterar avfall så som: Färgat och ofärgat glas, brännbart avfall, wellpapp, returpapper, plast, metall, glas/porslin, batterier, ljuskällor m.m. Under 2010-2014 har hotellet genomgått en hel del renoveringar. Det har installerats energisnåla duschar och toaletter med två spolningsalternativ. Alla våra hygien- samt städartiklar finns nu i doseringsflaskor. Vi har bytt ut alla lampor till energisnåla lampor eller LED ljus. Alla våra vitvaror är energimärkta. Under 2012 fick vi nya moderna treglasfönster. Då vi själva tvättar vår egen tvätt använder vi alltid märkta rengöringsmedel. Vi har ställt krav på alla våra leverantörer att allt inköp ska ha en sorts märkning.

Hotel Amadeus är ett Garni Hotell där enbart frukost serveras. Vi köper våra råvaror själva ute i butikerna ca två till tre gånger i veckan. På så sätt har vi en otroligt liten...

We had the 4th floor rooms- so cant comment on others.||The room was spacious and perfectly comfortable.||The Wifi worked to start with then died and was not seen again for our stay.||The bathrooms, are Impressively small. You couldn't swing the proverbial cat around in it.||Just remember that once you open the shower door, the free soap is now on the otherside of the door. Conviently there is hole in the door to reach the soap. The shower is perfectly hot etc. I have never encountered this method of space saving.The breakfast was great, hot and cold options plenty of coffee and juices. They also let you get free coffees thru the day in the breakfast room which was great as it was -9 outside!||Apart from small bath room and no wifi it was a pleasent nights...
