Assuming one night would be sufficient on a pedestrian island, I well underestimated the magic on Marstrand. Time stands still, and only the important things matter here. |We loved the homey feel to the hotel and sofa spaces for taking in views, coffee. Etc…||Check-in was easy, the staff is friendly and professional and the very attentive manger made a personal effort to make our experience the best. ||The island is lovely to explore, loved the fish market, lots of hiking trails we wished to have more time for. The seawater was too cold for me as I have circulation problems; however quick dips off the pier were super refreshing and the hotel pool is fantastic. We also enjoyed the sauna- the gym was large and clean.||Take time for a long sunset, drinks and a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant. Breakfast was simple and would definitely recommend better gluten free options and something caffeine free. After the dinner, we did expect something better...
Read moreSuper classy place. The hotel is located in a beautifully renovated building, the area is quiet and just a short walk away from the pedestrian (and very pretty) streets of Marstrand. The staff picked us up in a golf cart when we arrived by the ferry and drove us back when we checked out. Our room had a lovely view towards the water, and even if it didn't, the sea is right there, a few steps out of the door. A tiny problem with the bathroom got very generously taken care of.
