I was in general very positively impressed by Revier Lodge Adelboden: spotless clean room, big bed, very comfortable bathroom, a big ski room with a lot of space for storing skis and boots, easy parking; but there were also a couple of negative points:|1) there isn't any information, either on the website or in the various confirmations after booking or paying, that the guest will receive a "guest card" that, on top of other offers, gives right to a 2-days skipass for 79 CHF instead of the normal 140/150 CHF. Knowing about the dynamic prices, my friend and I bought the skipass in advance, and ended up paying 60 CHF more each of us. When I received the "guest card" (just few hours before arrival) it was already widely too late to claim the discount at the lifts. I believe information about this should be given at booking time.|2) the breakfast is too late (07:30) and not worth at all the 18 CHF paid for it. With the lifts opening at 8 AM it's extremely difficult to enjoy a breakfast and be able to the be there at opening time; one has to have breakfast in a hurry, or to give up skiing in the early hours, when slopes are empty and perfectly groomed; on top of that the selection at breakfast is extremely cheap: few slices of ham and cheese, inexpensive cereals, some bread, etc. Also something that's quite common, even in lower category hotels, like a cappuccino or espresso, is only available with an additional fee. For sure in a future stay I will not include the breakfast and I'll go to have it at the confiserie or the kiosk just around the corner.|3) not a negative, but at least a confusing situation: the whole hotel concept looks inspired to environmental/energy sustainability, then it's quite surprising to find a 50 square meters ski room heated up to 30 degrees 7x24 when, for melting the ice on the skis, the normal 20 degrees heating would be more than enough, and much more efficient systems exists for drying and warming...
Read moreThe location is very handy and easy to reach. If you are coming by car, a very cozy parking is available on site. You will have to press a button and access a lift which will automatically bring you to the underground parking. Always print the booking parking and leave it visible. A self-check-in will be done on site, a SMS and email are going to be sent prior your arrival on your contacts with the pin to access your room. I have booked a room located in the -upper floors-, there are several options on the website. My room was located on the 7th floor with a lovely view on the mountains. The room is very well presented, with a king size bed and very modern bathroom. For Instagram lovers, please do visit this hotel. It is amazingly done for great pictures ! For dinner, I have enjoyed the restaurant too. The selection of food isn't that wide, but believe me, the food is really good quality ! Definitely a must ! The food was really nice presented and extremely delicious. The team not good, but super-excellent. Very helpful and friendly. Just a splendid team ! Special thanks to Karina and her other colleagues ! There is also a cozy terrace with the view on the mountains, great place to chill after a hiking day in the surroundings. Great selection of beers, definitely a-go go choices ! Beers lovers will definitely fall in love with this place ! Breakfast was good and buffet, sanitary restrictions are respected all over the place ! Check-out will be done online too, no more queues. I definitely recommend this place,...
Read moreWhat I love: |• Eco minimalistic concept with lots of wood|• Great insulation (for the winter)|• Modern hotel tech|• A superbe restaurant attached|• Breakfast was small but thoughtful.|• Fantastic view with the giant window and a bed next to it. It was a childhood dream come true for me.||What I didn't enjoy too much: |• This was clearly built as a winter hotel. There's a heater but no aircon nor electric fans, so it got really hot during the summer. There is a giant window but only a tiny part could be open to air the room. During the day the blind needs to be pulled down, otherwise the entire room would turn into an oven. At night, we also needed to keep the blinds close to black out the early sunlights (and the extremely bright full-moon lights), which blocked even more fresh air coming into the room. It's OK that the hotel doesn't have the aircon, but advance warning on the website would have been appreciated.|• No fridge, which is hard for budget travelers to store their fresh supermaket-bought food items.|• There was quite a bit of bed/pastry crumbles in the gaps between the mattress and the bedframe, as well as a bit on the window sill. This alone forced me to deduct an entire star, as hygiene is the top priority for me.|• No foot mat for the shower. We had to use one hand towel as a foot mat.|• The walls are quite thin, so you could easily hear everything in the corridors. Bring your earplugs (and your own electric fan if you...
