Hotel Restaurant Bären — Restaurant in Adelboden

This is a very nice, modern, hotel in a traditional style inside and out. Our room was large and comfortable, with a great balcony looking out over the main street of Adelboden. The location is central to most of Adelboden’s shops and restaurants, and to one of the main ski lifts. All of the public areas of the hotel were spotless, as was our room. Breakfast was very adequate and served in the hotel’s restaurant. The restaurant looked great, but we didn’t get a chance to try it.||The lady who was covering the reception area, both when we checked in and when we checked out, was extraordinarily nice. We had three or four situations arise (unrelated to the hotel itself) where we needed help from someone Swiss, and she went out of her way on each situation. ||We would go back...

On a recent alpine hiking trip I experienced many different accommodation types. Hotel Baeren has a great location in the center of Adelboden, on the main street. We had a balcony, which gave us a great view of the local action - especially for the summer street fair. We had dinner and breakfast at the Baeren - both excellent meals. Dinner in particular was one of the best of our trip. The service, however was borderline rude. From the first lukewarm exchange as we got our room, to the waitstaff that appeared put out to seat us or serve us, Would give a 5 for the food, and a 1 or 2 for the service.
