The best way to start the review is by saying we will be booking for 2 weeks next year, maybe 3! |As a family of 4 with 2 girls aged 6&4 we weren't really sure how it would work out but we decided to jump in and see. ||This campsite is like a huge kids playground. It seems that after dinner each night the road in the campsite becomes a racetrack for all ages, doing laps on bikes in groups of all nationalities until the sun goes down. our little one didn't have a bike - so she ran round - much to the amusement of other on lookers. |I'm sure there are campsites in the region that are meant for tranquility and calm, but this isn't one of them. It's for families and people wanting to get out onto the lake and on bikes. ||Although it is exceptionally busy from 6pm to sundown, everyone knew that from 10pm it was quiet time and the site come back to life again about 9am. ||I'd recommend getting up before 7am and taking tea/coffee by the lake and watch as the sun comes up round the mountain. ||Most people we spoke to had only booked a few nights on the site, almost as a quick stop through and they all said they didn't realise how much was in the area and wished they had booked longer on this site. |"The Beach" is a venue next door with 3 pools, 1 for really little ones another about 3ft deep - which our girls lived in and then a full size/depth pool, with a dedicate lane for those that actually want to swim. There is also a section of the lake marked for the Beach guests with inflatables and a pontoon to jump from. The venue is free to enter for all guests of the campsite, so it's just an extension of the site really, just make sure you get your cards sorted at camping reception. ||The facilities at the campsite were all in great condition and well maintained all week. ||There is also 2 small pools here and a small playground for the kids. | |The food at the campsite and the beach were of good quality and reasonably priced. 70CHF for 3 burgers, a kids pizza, 4 drinks and 2 ice lollies for the girls at...

Only 4 ladies showers but I never had to wait long at all.|Washing up and cooking facilities were brilliant. |There was a lovely communal BBq area, we didn’t use it but it looked so equipped with wood etc.|You can hire paddle boards for the lake by a lovely lady. We paddled over to the other side of the lake and found a waterfall below the church it was small but lush |All the staff couldn’t help enough so friendly and welcoming. We had trouble with our van and they really helped.|Just down the path is a beach club which is free to the campsite so worth a visit if you have kids|Swimming pool, lake activities. Food and drink is reasonably priced also as we ate dinner for the last night to saves washing up ! |Lots of to do around and about but be prepared to pay but we all know Switzerland is expensive but so worth it |We visited the village of Grindelwald which was stunning and we hit the mountain and went on the toboggan.
