Camping Delta — Hotel in Circolo di Locarno

Stay away from this campsite! The campsite is very cliquey and clearly doesn’t like British holiday makers. We booked to stay here for 2 nights and after checking in with the receptionist who was very helpful we thought we would have a lovely time there. But no! Far from it! We set up our base and then had a BBQ and a small fire in the BBQ afterwards to cook marshmallows with the children. No one informed us that camp fires inside a bbq were forbidden and it wasn’t written anywhere on the paperwork we were given. The rules of the campsite were also not written in English by the reception so we had no idea we were breaking the rules. All of a sudden a very aggressive security man came over starting being very rude, aggressive and breaking down our wind breaker we had set up. We immediately put the fire out and apologised prefusely. The security man demanded mine and my husband’s passports and said he was writing a report... he was being so aggressive it really upset my 6 year old daughter who was becoming scared. The security man was then right up in my face and shouting at me. He then announced he was calling the police, tried to walk off with my passport, at which point my husband took it from him. He then grabbed my husband round the collar and tried to drag him up to the reception and said he would he going to Swiss prison. The police were called and thankfully spoke some English and told the security guy to calm down! We were all gobsmacked and some what frightened. The campsite then threw us out the next morning, tried to refuse to give us our money back and told us the manager was not around and no one could refund us. After an hour, they finally refunded our money back and we left and found a much friendlier, nicer campsite down the road. This whole situation would have been resolved so easily had the security man just told us to put the fire out nicely rather than shouting in our faces and destroying our camp base. He was seriously a vile, horrid man. My recommendation is to stay AWAY! Funny enough I have read other reviews saying that the management are very rude and threaten to call the police.There are much more organised , better run and friendlier campsites in this area and let’s face it- that is no way to treat your customers. We were all completely amazed and never had such an experience in all our years camping!

What a shame that the reply they gave is far from the truth and they can not accept responsibility that they are employing aggressive staff, even the police had to tell the security to calm down, all because we had a small camp fire. Please don’t be fooled by their reply. My husband was NOT DRUNK.

Please avoid this campsite. Very rude and aggressive staff. We had planned a three day holiday hear and after one day decided to leave. We where refused a refund for the two days after one night. The police had to be called to achieve this.

British holiday makers are clearly not welcome on this site and all rules and regulations are in German/ Swiss/ Italian.

The toilets are dirty, and often required queuing. The pitches are very small and packed like sardines, Mosquitos everywhere due to the dirty beach edge.

The secretary of the camping delta site ALEX was absolutely disgraceful with his non diplomatic approach towards the rules and regulations of the site, and rather explain that BBQs past 10pm where not allowed, he shouted and verbally abused my family, scared my children to tears. He should loose his job as the organisations secretary.

I will not ever visit this site again and I will warn people if British not to visit.

In fact I got a reply from the above review and they completely lied. Accusing me and my son of being drunk. That is a lie and an attempt to defend their actions and certainly was not the opinions of the police officers who dealt with the rude man that approached us, who in fact was told to keep calm. How dare they reply in such a manner. I will do everything I can to name and shame this outfit to prevent any other good and honest British family holiday makers from visiting this site. Don’t be fooled.

Ich bin seit über 25 Jahren mit Motorrad und Zelt unterwegs. Was ich jedoch auf dem Campingplatz Delta in Locarno erlebt habe, war an Arroganz, Kundenunfreundlichkeit und kapitalistischem Verhalten kaum zu überbieten.

Bereits bei der Ankunft wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass es für Motorradfahrer nicht erlaubt sei, mit dem Motorrad auf den Platz zu fahren. Ich sollte mein gesamtes Gepäck vom Motorrad abladen, es auf einen Wagen umladen und dann zu Fuss durch den riesigen Platz bis ganz nach hinten zur Zeltwiese bringen. Dasselbe Prozedere war dann am Morgen wieder nötig, inklusive Bepackung des Motorrades bei strömendem Regen. Ein Entgegenkommen war nicht möglich, obwohl ich höflich fragte, ob man mich nicht über das nahegelegene hintere Tor reinlassen könne. Dieses liegt direkt bei der Zeltwiese. Dort hätte man einfach kurz öffnen können. Direkt neben dem Tor gab es eine Wiese auf der riesige Wohnmobile (Lastwagen welche die Seitenwände ausfahren konnten) standen, welche unmöglich über den Haupteingang reinfahren konnten. Ich bin mir sicher, dass diese über das angesprochene Tor ins Gelände kamen.

Mir wurde erklärt, dass dieses Tor früher missbraucht worden sei. Ich schlug vor, meinen Ausweis zu hinterlegen, das Motorrad kurz reinzubringen, und es danach gleich wieder rauszufahren. Auch das wurde abgelehnt. Kein Verständnis, keine Lösung, keinen gesunden Menschenverstand.

Währenddessen fahren auf dem Platz Autos herum, kommen und gehen, E-Trottinetts und Fahrräder verkehren kreuz und quer. Ich bot sogar an, mein Motorrad von Hand ganz nach hinten zu schieben, ohne laufenden Motor. Auch das wurde verweigert.

Mir wurde ebenfalls gesagt, man könne das Risiko nicht eingehen, Motorräder dort zu parken, weil eventuell alles voll werde. Dabei war der Wetterbericht katastrophal für den Sonntag. Und als ich an der Wiese ankam, war die Fläche dort bei weitem nicht belegt, was sich während meines Aufenthaltes auch nicht änderte. Hinter der Wiese, verdeckt durch eine Hecke, gäbe es eine grosse, ungenutzte Wiesenfläche, zum Teil mit mit Sand und Schutt belegt. Dort könnte man problemlos Motorräder hinstellen, ohne dass es irgendwen stören würde. Aber man wollte offensichtlich keine Lösung finden.

Ich hatte das Gefühl, dass ich aufgrund meines Aussehens als Motorradfahrer oder weil ich nicht mit einem dicken Camper kam, pauschal abgelehnt und diskriminiert wurde. Das ist für mich in der heutigen Zeit völlig inakzeptabel.

Ich habe der Angestellten Person an der Rezeption deutlich meine Meinung gesagt. Und auch wenn ich emotional war, möchte ich mich dafür entschuldigen. Ich bin mir sicher, dass sie diese Regeln nur umsetzen musste. Mein Ärger gilt der Leitung dieses Platzes, die solche starren und kundenfeindlichen Strukturen vorgibt.

Was alles noch übertroffen hat, war der Preis: Ich zahlte für eine Nacht mit einem Zelt 84 CHF. Kein Strom. Kein Service. Keine Kulanz. Keine Flexibilität. Nur Kontrolle und so wie es aussieht Diskriminierung.

Ich werde diesen Platz nie wieder betreten.

Nachtrag zu ihrer Antwort:

Es geht hier um IHRE geistige Flexibilität. Wieso dürfen alle durch den Campingplatz fahren und ich nicht? Wieso wurde mir verwehrt das Tor zu benutzen, wenn es anderen erlaubt ist? Das sind die beiden Fragen. Aufklärung, keine böse Absicht. Ich habe einmal geklingelt bei der Administration um zu fragen, ob es möglich wäre, eventuell das Tor für uns zu öffnen. Und sie haben nein gesagt. Das dauerte keine 2 Minuten. Die Rezeptionistin hat gesagt, sie verstehe meinen Frust, aber sie habe fixe Anordnungen von der Administration. Ich habe nie von aussen versucht das Tor zu öffnen, ich bin mir nur zu Fuss die Camping-Wiese anschauen gegangen! Was seid ihr für Lügner!

2. Ich musste noch nie vorher fragen, weil ich solche Preise noch nie erlebt habe. Aber wie gesagt, geniessen sie ihre Monopolstellung

3. Eventuell weil es auf der fast leeren Wiese schöner ist als auf einem sandigen, harten, staubigen, in hohen Steinmauern eingepferchten Gang, direkt beim Eingang. Fahrradfahrer durften ihre Velos mitnehmen...
