BLUE WALL BnB - business apartments — Hotel in Gebenstorf

When looking for a somewhere to stay in Switzerland near Zurich, I kept my eyes open for a place with a little more character outside of the actual city of Zurich. This place really fit the bill! The host was very friendly, and our room felt like our own really nice apartment in Switzerland. The room actually had 2 beds, one of which the in-laws (who hadn't yet reserved a room) really had their eye on (though we decided it was best they stay elsewhere...) The room was modern, very spacious, and had lots of character. My husband and I both agreed this was one of the best places we stayed on our 2 week trip to Europe. Small pleasures, but if I recall correctly, this was the only place in our stay that had washcloths in the bathroom!! The price per night was also very good for Switzerland. We would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Switzerland as long as you have a car...

An unusual place. I had a modest apartment. Basically a largish room, with a large bed at one end, a lounge area at the other, and kitchenette, dining table and bathroom in between. There is also a private sun lounge. Jan, the host, is very personable and helpful. He has tried to think of everything that someone staying might want, from a shoe horn, to a hot water bottle to a gadget to pick the fluff off your clothes. It was well equipped, quiet and comfortable. Jan has his eclectic collections spaced around, for example, enameled milk jugs and old style staplers in the room. There is a nice sitting area outside and the river is nearby for a walk. Gebenstorf was quiet and pleasant. I asked for my breakfast 0615 for an early start and Jan delivered it on the dot. all in...

My wife and I stayed here in Jan/Feb 2015 whilst I was having medical treatment nearby. Over this period we stayed in both the studio apartments both of which are clean, characterful, well equipped and very comfortable. We felt very at home particularly as we could keep up with English news and familiar tv programmes on the satellite tv system as well as a good internet connection. Jan and Maja are perfect friendly hosts and are always willing to help and advise. The Blue Wall is a good travel base situated in a quiet and attractive part of Gebendstorf which as well as providing attractive walks along the river is also close to the local rail station in Brugg as well as quick access to the motorway network.
