Hotel Hirschen — Hotel in Maienfeld

Do not stay here! I was disappointed on so many levels. It is not much more than a hostel. In fact, I've stayed at a nicer hostel than this. Lift wasn't working and no fan or A/C in the room,which would have been much appreciated as it was extremely hot in the building. I arrived late because I got lost and the welcome was horrible. She asked about breakfast and said it wasn't included in the price. She was curt and surly. The check-out was not improved either. Another person just took the key and didn't bother to ask how my stay was. I felt most unwelcomed. There was no mention that my room would not have a bathroom. It was in the hall, outside of my room. I wish I would have known that in advance. As a woman traveling alone, I much prefer the safety of having my own bathroom. I'll just summarise it and be straight (as I never post bad reviews)||||So....||||1. Hotel looks abandoned with no care at all, like a ghost town.||||2. Unfriendly and rude check-in staff (basically you feel like your not welcome)||||3. Room facilities are very poor, no tea or coffee, the room so small you couldn't swing a cat around||||4. Having to pay €20 for a child's bed when you already booked a room for 3 (we were travelling with 2 adults and 1 baby)||||5. Breakfast was €15 each and was very poor, tiny selection and I mean tiny selection, we would have been better going to the local bakery.||||6. Staff walking in and out of the kitchen eating and shouting at breakfast||||So quite simply put I would not recommend this hotel to anyone...

My husband and I have reserved a room at this hotel in mid-Sep. When we come to check in, staff's attitude was very rude and impolite. The one who talked to us told us the lift was not work and we have to bring our luggage upstairs ourselves. ||The room does not has any cup/glass and hairdryer. When we wanted to borrow the hairdryer from the reception at 10pm, no one was at the reception. Even we rang the bell several times but still no one answer! We walked upstairs to our room and read the instruction book in the room, then found that they only lend hairdryer but with CHF20 for deposit. It is very unreasonable and mean as it is a hotel! And another problem was NO ONE answer at...
