We were planning to have our wedding there and I asked the owner about the possibility of using their space. I explained to her that at the moment I was going through a very difficult situation and was not able to visit the hotel immediately, but I proposed a date, more or less 30 days after our conversation. She asked me to contact her two days before the proposed date. But I didn't want her to forget me, because not only had the hotel been well recommended, but she's of the same nationality as me, and because of our affinity, we'd love to have the opportunity to have our wedding with them. I sent her a message a week before the date I had proposed to visit the hotel. But she said she was travelling and would send an email with the hotel's quote for events. Then I sent her a message two days later, asking if we could visit the hotel and see the facilities, as she was travelling. She sent me a message saying that she would no longer be able to fulfil our request because she had decided not to hold events at the hotel because she had never done so before. Not only did I not have the chance to visit the venue or receive a quote from them, but they kept me waiting for more than 30 days to give me this information. Anyone organising such an event knows how precious time is. If she had told me that the hotel had never done anything like this before, or if she had been honest from the start, we wouldn't have waited so long, because the owner of the hotel seemed honest and very friendly, and being of the same nationality as her, she would have been our first choice. It's a pity it didn't turn out...
Read moreThe hotel has nice breakfast and nice views and that is its only good selling point. There was no hot water one of the nights when we stayed. It was cold and raining outside and we just wanted to take a hot shower. The owner says just wait and let it run and after 30 minutes of waiting and letting it run the water did not get any warmer. And in fact it was ice cold water. Imagine traveling and coming back to the hotel just wanting to take a hot shower and get ice cold water after waiting for forever. When I told the staff in the morning, their response was that no one else had the problem trying to disregard my problem saying we turned the handle to the other side ( are we stupid? We have stayed there for more than one night) The next morning, we had breakfast and wanted to try the soy milk and surprise, it tasted thick and sour. I couldn’t believe what I was tasting and thought it was yogurt because I couldn’t read Germany. After smelling it I figured it was spoiled soy milk. Now imaging getting food poisoning on your Europe trip. ( the owner says no other guest complained even though they immediately apologized and tossed the soy milk telling me they have had it open sitting outside for more than 1 day!) I guess everything can be blamed on “ no one else complained so why are you complaining? “ Good luck staying here when you run into problems they will just tell you please...
Read moreI wish I could explain to each and every one of you that are looking for hotels in this area, that this is the BEST HOTEL! Richard and his wife are exceptionally great. From the minute we checked in until we checked out, we were greeted with the upmost hospitality. One of the best experiences we had and looked forward to every morning in Switzerland was our breakfast at the hotel. Every morning, the breakfast was nothing short of delicious with fantastic service you don’t find at even some restaurants. Richard offered us eggs made fresh every morning along with a fresh cup of coffee. It truly felt more like we were a guest in someone’s home that adored you being here vs a hotel. I LOVE THAT! Along with another perk of this hotel, the views are the best we have found in the area. We truly think this hotel has the best view in all the area. The water right in front of the hotel is so blue with a stunning backdrop of the mountains (see the photo). Let me just lastly say, it was such a welcoming vibe that my husband jokingly said “if I win the lottery, I think I’ll just keep paying for a room, and I’ll just live here.” Thank you Richard and Tania for one of the best parts of our Switzerland adventures. PS. I’m going to have to figure out how to remake the oatmeal because it was the BEST I...
