Back Home — Hotel in Chiayi

So.... Chipped paint on the walls, some tiles were broken, stained ceilings.. oh the bed, so hard! Really uncomfortable. It was basically like those very old victorian room that you see in western horror movies (I say victorian coz of their fancy room phone). I can still almost tolerate these but.... As soon as I see a cockroach crawling on the floor, that's a deal breaker. Called the front desk and they gave us a pesticide spray. Thanks to them having one. But seriously.. ok, you are an old hotel, but at least the hotel owner should properly renovate and maintain sanitation of the entire building. I know the price of your accommodation is relatively cheap but hey... I have stayed at a cheaper hotel than yours. Likewise, I have also stayed at 5-stars hotels. None of them, not even a single one, have I seen a cockroach crawling on the floor. You are the only one. Goodness gracious! This is the first hotel where I couldn't wait to check out. I'd rather sleep at the park. If this is your business, kindly please... Renovate your place. It is an investment and a good one to make. If not, just close!

Positive The hotel is located in the city center, and the room is tranquil here. It’s convenient and appropriate for travelers to rest nicely and get ready to visit Chiayi city.

I didn’t get nice greetings and warm smiles from the receptionist while checking in. But I appreciated a lot the employees in charge of the breakfast on the next day. They arranged some food for me even if I already missed the breakfast time.

Negative The photos of this hotel gave a different impression compared to the real room condition. I expected the atmosphere shall be young-minded and cozy, but I felt that I was in an old hotel with nice decors merely in the public space. In my double bed room, I found that the wallpaper slightly fell off the wall, that the lamp’s surface was a bit ruined, and that there were a few scraps...

2 stars because of the good location & big size of hotel room.

Other than that, this hotel is meh. Front desk (both ladies) are very unfriendly, and the rooms are so dusty & dirty.

Expect molds at the bathroom. TV also not working properly. Separate shower / toilet has no curtain. So what's the point?

All the photos they used on Agoda are fake, so beware of that.

I guess it's good for a place to sleep at overnight, and really convenient location since it's near diff restaurants and shuttle stop.
