夏內爾落羽松民宿（08:00-22:00） — Hotel in Dahu

I have nothing but praise for the proprietors of this amazing establishment. In a simplistic term, this is a B&B and offers so much more. I'm used to set ups of B&Bs in the UK, but in Taiwan, 民宿 (ming su; also referred to as minshuku in Japanese) offers a uniquely local experience where you get to stay and interact with the locals and really immerse yourself in the local culture. Xianel Vacation Chateau (夏內爾落羽松民宿) epitomises the spirit of what an excellent 民宿 provides its guests - a home away from home experience as you are made to feel like part of the family by the warm and friendly proprietors yet still able to enjoy the luxury as you would staying in a hotel. ||||The proprietors really went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We were only there for 1 day/night (without a car) and yet, due to the generosity of Mr Cai (one of the proprietors) who offered to be our tour guide and driver for the day, was able to check out the local sights with ease. He picked us up from the train station and brough us around and even brought us to a hot spring bathhouse and picked us up after - all in his own time and at his own expenses！Mind you, we were the only guests staying at that time and so he was able to offer such services; but we would have happily forked out yet he didn't charge us a cent - this only demonstrated how the comfort and experience of their guests is their top priority, over that of making money. The other two proprietors, Mr and Mrs You were also as lovely, and we had such a great time chatting to them, learning about the local surroundings and the culture. ||||The building itself is beautiful and is surrounded by pretty trees. There is a big pond by the entrance with fish and by the dining room, a big glass cage where you can see the many beautiful birds they keep as pets, as you enjoy your breakfast (which was a spread, so you can take your time basking in the morning sun, listening to birds chirping as you enjoy the very delicious breakfast - a vegetarian option was readily provided)||||The room we stayed in is big, airy and the huge windows provided loads of natural lighting, making the room incredibly homely and comfortable. The furnishings was modern and of high quality. The bed was sooo comfortable and the whole place was squeaky clean. Crabtree and evelyn toiletries were provided and there was a Dyson fan and Dyson hairdryer in the room! ||||We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Xianel Vacation Chateau. This is not an usual resort we usually visit. This is a high quality resort with perfectly decorated rooms, luxury Dyson dryer and Dyson air purifier, and well-known coffee/teabags/toiletries, etc. What surprises me is the fantastic field scene from the window. Love it! Price: About 4000TWD-5000TWD per night for a king bed room during weekend. Location: Next to the county road. Driving is a better choice. Parking: Parking is provided (6 parking lots) Service: Owner is very friendly and recommend us a list of local restaurants (Hakka style). She constantly check if we are satisfied with every details of this resort. Food: Breakfast is tasty. You can enjoy Taiwanese local breakfast including Taiwanese pancake and porridge.
