I checked into Leofoo Resort on 4th Dec 2023 to 7th December 2023. I booked two rooms, 1 Congo Greenery Room and 1 Kenya Greenery Room. I also booked the Dine and Joy Package which comes with Breakfast and Dinner and all days free entry to the theme park.
Congo Greenery Room faces capybaras, some meerkat and sometimes alpacas. We have 7 adults, 1 teen and 2 children. I signed up for various animal attractions to keep the elderlies and the children entertained. If you are going with people above 10 and below 70, do sign up for Adventure with the Beasts! We also signed up for capybaras feeding, meerkats feedings, alpacas feedings, rhino's feeding and a Safari ride. Some of the activities are given foc which comes under the rooms' package and the more people you have, you might get a discount for a few people for the activities. However, these activities might not be suitable for people with leg problems like my mother-in-law.
The rooms were absolutely spacious and kept in good condition. The cleaning staffs also made sure we get new towels daily, rolled into different shapes like an elephant, swans or heart shapes. The only issue my husband had (which weren't really an issue for the rest) was the toilet and bathing area were separated.
I don't understand why some reviews said the staffs weren't friendly. Most I met are very friendly. One counter staff, Andy, attended to all our needs, we checked in early and he put all our luggages like 13 over in the concierge room 1st and arranged for our luggages to be brought up to us.
Another staff I would like to commend is 鳄鱼姐姐。She's super friendly and sincere! We had the privilege to have her as our guide for some activities and she is so knowledgeable and approachable. Another young man, whom I call 小弟 was also very nice. He helped Andy carry our luggages and also was our driver when we needed to get from the resort to the theme park or vice versa. There was another uncle who also drove us from the resort to the theme park and vice versa and he was also very friendly and praised my husband to the sky. They are always so shy to get tips from us telling us it was their job. But we tipped them because they were really customer service oriented.
Area is a little far from everything though but you can always get the concierge to call a cab for you for a small fee to get to the family mart if outside and we also asked for a cab to bring us to this restaurant one afternoon which was recommended by 鳄鱼姐姐 and team. The food there was awesome (can't remember the name though but think it's 缘 something).
After dinner around night, it can be a little slow, you can either turn in for the night or for me, since it's cold but pretty comfortable in December, took a walk around.
Some people might not know this but they do have an arts and crafts room on the left of the resort. My nieces and daughter painted Karimbas and a car there and were very happy! Also please watch the performances by the Africans and join them for a dance! Even my mum who's 79 was happily dancing with them.
Only thing I kind of didn't really like was the food. Taste is okay but quite repetitive.
But all in all, I definitely recommend this place and will go back...
Read moreIt was one thing after another with this resort, culminating in us checking out early while still paying full price.
The Head Incident The first thing we saw after checking in was a cool raised walkway with animals below it. Flamingoes, tortoises, and other small creatures were down there milling around, and our 2-year-old was thrilled! He got up close to the metal railing separating him from the animals. The rails were widely spaced but I dismissed my initial concerns, thinking, "This is a family resort, the bars must be childproof." The next thing I knew, our kid had stuck his head through the bars and couldn't get it back out. He screamed and we tried to free him, before turning to staff for help. One staff member came over, then left to call over another staff, who was about to call another when finally we pulled out our kid by ourselves. Because I truly wanted to know, I asked the most experienced-looking staff what she would have done if a kid really couldn't get his head out. She said she didn't know and needed to consult an engineer. She emphasized that nobody besides our very special child had ever, ever done this before.
Food Desert Dinner was bundled into the cost of the hotel room (NT$12,000). We were served a set meal in which you could choose the entree. I had beef noodles, and no element of it was good. The noodles were soggy, the broth watery, and the beef tough and flavorless. The best side was the watermelon juice. Overall, portions were small, so we left the table still hungry. The mystifying thing was that no food of any kind was offered to our 2-year-old. We did have food for him back in the hotel room so it was fine in the end, but we would have liked to have known in advance.
We were still hungry after dinner but there was no other hot food on the premises. There was also no room service, just a vending machine stocked with overpriced instant noodles. We found a Leofoo ad online about a "midnight snack" service, but the front desk said it was no longer available. UberEats options were limited to Domino's because of the resort's remote location, so Domino's it was.
The Sleep Situation The crib had a rock-hard bottom layer wrapped in clear plastic, perhaps as diaper leak protection. It wasn't really a mattress, more like a board, and there was a blanket laid on top to make it softer. Our kid doesn't sleep with blankets, and babies younger than him probably shouldn't be sleeping with blankets to avoid the risk of SIDS. But the bottom layer was too hard to sleep on by itself, and the plastic made the surface unbreathable and uncomfortable. For young babies, this surface could pose a suffocation hazard. It was after seeing this bed that we cut our losses and went home.
There were other issues during our seven hours there. We couldn't enter the play center because the on-site shop couldn't sell us socks, as it shut down its cash register an hour before closing. The front desk said it would send up toothbrushes and slippers, but forgot until we asked about it.
In conclusion, I would not recommend this resort to:
Children whose heads are the size of my kid's People who like to eat Parents who want their infants' cribs to meet...
Read moreRooms is clean but you need to bring your own tooth brush & tooth paste.... It's not a luxury resort standard
Service from front desk to restaurant.... Looks helpful but in fact nothing was done. First they only speaks mandarin and front desk didn't explain clearly on the activities of the theme park, where to go for breakfast, how to get the WiFi.... Everything needs to be asked... Again not a luxury resort standard.
Location of all is the worst, you have practically nothing to eat except here at the only restaurant and they have practically nothing to offer. Either the meat are still frozen or they have not enough this or that. Even breakfast is a nightmare where you need to beg for a place... Always full...i ordered food from food Panda but they cannot come in, the resort needs to get a taxi to go ferry the food from the main gate for me. It will cost me NT200 just for fetching the food from the main gate which is about S$8 more expensive than the meal itself.
The air filtration in the rooms are bad, you can still smell the outside rhino mud smell coming thru the Aircon vents.... As though you're sleeping in the open .... Again not a luxury resort standard
Finally, I'm staying in room 115 started on the 26th Dec, room 215 upstairs has been making a hell of noises from 9pm until 12 midnight, banging on the floor, dragging chairs and doing all sorts of nonsense totally inconsiderate. Made complaint to resort at 12 midnight but it seems resort can't do anything about it since they says it's a resort they can't do anything.... Yes again this is definitely not a luxury resort standard.
If this is NOT a luxury standard resort then WHY CHARGE SO MUCH and WHY food at all the theme park TASTES LIKE SHIT! This comment is from others commenting on the individual restaurants at leofoo theme park on Google map.
Something has to be done to seriously improve this and this is definitely only a one time affair........
