Haowangjiao Restaurant — Restaurant in Guanxi

Worst food ever! Very surprised that a hotel resort restaurant served food that tasted this bad.

Our dinner was included with the hotel booking. The restaurant limited us on menu selection and told us all other items were sold out, including appetizers (even if we are willing to pay). Our dinner reservation was at 7:30.

We were started off being served with what was possibly salad that’s been sitting on the counter for a few hours. Afterwards we were served our meals we ordered (braised pork belly, beef stew, and fried rice).

The pork belly had a terrible aftertaste and a sour smell. The beef from beef stew was very tough and dry, despite sitting in liquid stew. The tofu (side dish) was very salty and gamy. Fried rice was edible.

We left the restaurant hungry, and assumed that we could deliver food to the hotel. Unfortunately, we were wrong. MAKE NOTE: Since the hotel is located inside the theme park, the delivery driver won’t be able to deliver to hotel (verified with front desk). So, make sure you pack some snacks or instant noodles. (There’s also no microwave, fyi).

This lovely cafe restaurant looks out into the Leofoo Guanxi Resort courtyard where myriad animals roam and mingle. The service is top notch. We were fortunate to have Jason Hsueh and Carlos Tung as our servers. They also serve in other restaurants in the hotel. These two are really friendly, helpful, and thrive in seemingly chaotic circumstances, like when five families come at the same time. David and James are the gems of the restaurant. Recommended to come here to experience amazing hospitality which is very pleasant, this is a far cry from what we experienced in the lobby concierge.
